Moving on...
I know that I have learned a great deal through all of this. Let's make sure we are staying intentional and aware of how all our kids are doing. There are times when success is not on paper – we all know that. It’s important, however, that we be honest enough about what is on paper that we don’t allow any excuse to get in the way of improving student performance.
I want us to view it this way: the visit set us in motion, but we made some “forever” changes. Everything we did will benefit the kids we serve. Some of our monitoring will change as we move forward and learn best ways to use it, but we have done nothing that we will drop after this week. What we did, we did for the kids in the building. After some amount of time passes, we will be able to say that this is the best thing that could have happened.
We had a “lobster” moment and grew a new shell.
