Husky Howler
March 19, 2021
Dear Hill-Roberts Families:
Our staff is working hard, preparing for our return to full in-person learning on April 5th. Like most places, our greatest struggle will be managing our breakfast and lunch blocks. The distancing requirement of 6’ when maskless, which you obviously need to be to eat, restricts where in the building we can have students eat. In order to adequately socially distance students, we are going to need to increase the number of spaces we use. This also means we’ll need more adults to supervise students. We would love to enlist the help of parent volunteers to manage this. If you are available to help during any of the following blocks on any day of the week, consistently, please fill out the following form: Hill-Roberts Breakfast/Lunch Volunteer Form
All volunteers are required to complete a CORI every 3 years. If you have not, you can do so by coming to the office. If you’re unsure whether yours has expired, please call the office at (508) 399-7560 and Mrs. Lavoie can look for you.
Sincerely,
Frank W. Rich, Principal
Pooled Surveillance Testing
Hill-Roberts experienced our first positive pool this week. The students and staff involved did an incredible job going through the retesting process.
As it currently stands, we only have 54.5% of our students participating. As previously stated, it's imperative that we have as many students participate as possible. The flyer directly above lays out why this is so important.
If you have previously responded, "No" on the consent but wish to change your answer, you can follow the same steps (see below) and complete the consent form again. This is also true if you have previously responded, "Yes" on the consent but want to change your answer.
For more information please see the FAQ document that was created to answer questions surrounding the pooled testing program. The video below shows a first-grade and a fourth-grade Hill-Roberts student demonstrating the procedure.

This Week in Music
Dear Families,
This week in Music class 1st through 4th graders are playing a game called, “Where is Alpine Hiding?” But we aren’t playing it the way we have in the past (ask your student). We are playing it on our xylophones and metallophones.
I play a four-beat pattern, and the students echo me. We play a few patterns as a warm-up, and this week second, third and fourth graders try to stump each other ( and me) with their patterns.
Check out Ms. Leddy’s 4th graders and Mrs. Amancio’s 3rd graders playing their instruments.
Kindergarten and 1st graders are also listening to a story called, “The Animal Boogie." As we listen to the story, the animal on every other page does a movement that we perform during the music in the story. Next week, we will play a game called, “The Freeze Game” with the movements from our story. Check out the pictures of students in Mrs. Landry and Mrs. Kubel’s classes doing the movements in our story; leaping, shaking, stomping, slithering, swaying, and flapping.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Giannetti, Music Teacher
