Unpacking Coaching Caregivers
Statewide Winter Book Study with MNCoE
Do you want to learn more about coaching caregivers?
We are excited to invite you to join a winter book study on The Early Childhood Coaching Handbook, 2nd Edition, by Dr. Dathan Rush and Dr. M'Lisa Shelden!
The Early Childhood Coaching Handbook, 2nd Edition, Book Study is a self-paced professional development opportunity offered by Minnesota Centers of Excellence for Young Children with Disabilities (MNCoE). Each chapter will have discussion questions, practical application activities, and additional resources to extend learning. Participants will have opportunities to learn from colleagues across Minnesota, to reflect on their own practice, and to collaborate with colleagues using Google Classroom. The book includes the research supporting a coaching interaction style, the five coaching characteristics, sample coaching scenarios, and information about using this approach to coach colleagues.
Intended Audience:
Early Interventionists, Related Service Providers, and Early Childhood Special Education Leaders in Minnesota
Dates:
January 2021-April 2021
Time Commitment:
The book study will be available in Google Classroom and is designed to be completed in 8-10 weeks, depending how quickly you choose to read each chapter and how much you choose to engage in the discussions and activities. This book study is self-paced, so you may complete the readings, reflections and activities on your own time, or may you be interested in working through this with your district team.
