COOKIE ORDERS ARRIVE SATURDAY FEBRUARY 18TH
After the initial cookie orders are delivered, we will be participating in Cookie Booths.
The council allows Troops to hold cookie booths from February 17th - April 9th. We will not be having any cookie booths outdoors. We do have one date secured: Saturday March 11th at the Grand Blanc City School craft/vendor show. We will also have a few dates at the Davison Farmer's Market.
When we have all of the dates confirmed there will be a link for Sign up Genius in REMIND for you to sign up for specific dates/times. More information to follow in February.
Placement for badges, pins and required insignia.
Patches are received for attending events and are placed on the back of tunics, vests and sashes.
Girls should be wearing their tunic, vest or sash at Girl Scout events, badge workshops and especially when selling cookies.
Listed below are upcoming events and badge workshops in February and March - as well as information on the January 27th event.
Some are held on our Friday meeting date in which they may or may not be in place of the meetings at school. This information will be listed with the event in this newsletter and in REMIND. The reasons to venture outside of the school are to provide the girls with a variety of new experiences by learning from people in their fields of expertise, engaging in hands-on activities, acquiring new skills that will build their confidence, and having fun making memories with friends - new and old.
Events that are held on Saturday and Sunday would be in addition to the Friday meeting/event or workshop, not in place of.
*Events that are held on the opposite Friday meeting date including that weekend are listed with the link provided for your information if you wish to attend. They will not be an organized troop event*
At times Troop funds will be allocated for an event or workshop, either completely or partially with the remainder to be paid by each girl. *The costs of each event will be listed.
Please note: Troop funds are comprised of dues, Fall candy/nut sales and money earned from previous cookie sales by the girls. We do not receive any refunds for not attending after payment has been made. So to be fair, You will be required to reimburse the amount paid by the troop when you RSVP for an event and you do not show.
The events and workshops are hosted by other Troops in Southeastern Michigan that serve as fundraisers for them. Some events will specify NO TAGALONGS (meaning no siblings or friends). That information will be listed with each event as it is provided to us.
The Troop hosting also dictates the registration deadlines. This is why registration deadlines are VERY important on our end. These events will be posted via REMIND with invitations to everyone that require RSVPs no later than the date indicated. This is to ensure that we 'get our spot' especially when an event has a limited number of participants.

Join us for our 4th annual GSSEM FIRST Robotics Expo
The expo will begin at 12:00 noon and end at 4:00pm. Awards will be presented at 3:30pm in the center of the mall.
FIRST Robotics offers an amazing experience in real-life problem solving, focused on current issues that affect our lives every day. This year, Daisy and Brownie Girl Scouts have been working diligently throughout the year, exploring animal habitats and identifying threats to those habitats through research. As a team, girls selected a threat and worked together to determine and illustrate solutions to that challenge. Each team has practiced their presentation, and the girls are eager to share their experiences with you! This year, more than 50 FIRST LEGO League Junior (FLL Jr) teams will present their project at the annual GSSEM FIRST Robotics Expo.
Junior Girl Scouts have been doing their own hard work, building and programming a robot to compete in local challenges. These robots will be on display at the 4th annual GSSEM FIRST Robotics Expo as well. Join us as more than 10 all-girl FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams present their work at Oakland Mall on March 11th.
This event is open to the public; we hope you will join us to see all of the amazing projects our Girl Scouts have completed. Combined with the exciting LEGO Expo, girls will have the chance to participate in hands-on science demonstrations that will ignite your Girl Scout’s imagination and satisfy a few badge requirements along the way!
Event patches will be provided while available; any badges earned will not be provided at the event. Families and tagalongs are welcome to attend and participate in any hands-on demonstrations, so bring out the whole family to this exciting, and free event!
