Important Information

Picture retakes:

Due to a shipping error, Lifetouch had to reprint and resend our school pictures. As of this publication, we have been notified that pictures have shipped again! We will get them to the students asap, so you can decide whether you need to have your picture redone either Wednesday, Oct, 28th for A day students, or Thursday, October 29th for B day students. Any student who may have missed the first round of pictures should be prepared to have their picture taken. These will be the pictures used in the yearbook so it's important to get photographed! Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter!

Absence procedures:

If your student has been absent for any reason, please remember to have a note with you explaining your absence when you get back. In order to be able to remain in the building, we need to make sure we are following COVID-19 safety protocols, meaning we are checking into every absence. Students also need to check in with the nurse upon their arrival.

Winter Sports:

Basketball, Wrestling, and Winter Cheerleading are currently open for signups! Someone will be in the cafeteria tomorrow for "B" day students to sign up. "A" day students were able to sign up starting today. Just a reminder that if you plan on participating in a winter sport, you must have a physical in order to start. If you played a fall sport, that physical will be good for the entire year so those athletes will not need to get another one. All other athletes please see Mrs. Taylor in the main office for the physical paperwork or if you missed the main signup event.

Student Withdrawals:

Please notify the Guidance Office if you are withdrawing from the district for any reason. On or before the student's last day, a parent's signature is needed on the student's withdrawal transcript. The student will be given a form for the teachers to sign, indicating that the student has returned any textbooks/materials for the class. The Librarian will also sign the form when all books have been returned to the Library. Any school issued sports uniforms must also be returned. Lastly, Mr. Brewer will sign the form when the student's computer and charger have been returned to him. The student will then be given a copy of their transcript, immunizations and birth certificate to take to the new school. Once the student has registered at the new school, that school will notify the Guidance Office, usually via email, and the records will be sent to the new school. Thank you for your cooperation.

Computer Insurance:

Accidents happen, and computers are expensive. We have seen a number of students break their computers, and when they don't have insurance it can be quite a hefty bill. Please see the insurance information below if you haven't bought it already. Any questions, please call the main office and ask to speak to someone about computer insurance.

Hello UAMS,

Are you ready to make some videos? Let's participate in the "What's So Cool About Manufacturing" video contest this year! Last year we won the "Outstanding Editing," and I'm hoping we'll have another great team this year.

We will be learning about filming and editing video while interviewing and discussing manufacturing with a local business. We're looking for people to speak on camera, people to interview company members off camera, people to understand the manufacturing process, and people to edit music and voice overs.

If you are interested in any type of film communication and production, please sign up here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeF5SvT_jV443N4VStccOcU3wk1IzqH5FXWJEcj0JZlAc_02Q/viewform?usp=sf_link

Thank you for your interest!
