All About the Seniors
Dear Catawba Ridge Families,
A good portion of this newsletter covers events specific to our 1st ever senior class. We have been working hard behind the scenes to solidify details and dates for some very important events for our seniors.
GRADUATION 6/9 @ 9 AM: The district announced graduation plans for all FMSD high schools this week. More info below. Jostens will provide announcement inserts with the updated information.
PROM/SENIOR SUNSET 6/4 @ 8-10 PM. Tickets are $25 and will be sold through GoFan.com starting at 4 PM today. More info below.
Spirit Week is next week 3/29-4/2. Follow StuCo on social media for details!
Course Verifications are due NOW to Guidance.
Please plan accordingly for the increase in traffic through earlier departures to school. We still have a lot of students coming in late. 8 AM is a GREAT time to drop off. The lobby opens to students at 7:30 AM.
Reminder: Drop-offs to the Front Office are NOT allowed. This is includes homework, athletic equipment, or lunches!
Returning Student Registration opens May 3rd.
OTHER ITEMS FOR YOUR ATTENTION:
- Ridge Gear Store is scheduled to open mid-April. More details will be shared soon!
- Last day for any course changes is 5/21.
- June 10th and 11th are ½ days for underclassmen exams. Exams for 1st and 2nd Block classes are the 10th and exams for 3rd and 4th Block are the 11th.
- Please continue to stress the importance of Health Protocols and Social Distancing to your students. We want to do what we can to keep our students and staff safe and in school. Please refer to the FMSD COVID webpage for the latest information and protocols.
- FREE Breakfast & Lunch will continue through the rest of the year.

RIDGE ANNOUNCEMENTS ARE ATTACHED!
GRADUATION
The district announced the plan for graduations for all high schools this week. It has been determined that graduation ceremonies will take place simultaneously at each high school’s stadium.
- Graduation Date: Wednesday, June 9th, 2021 at 9 AM at the CRHS Stadium.
- Graduation Practice: Tuesday afternoon, June 8th. This is required for all Seniors planning to participate in graduation.
- Senior Graduation Meeting: May 21st during 2nd Block.
CEREMONY DETAILS:
- Guests: 4 tickets per graduate. All fines and fees must be satisfied prior to receiving tickets.
- Seating: Families will be asked to sit together and social distance from other guests under current CDC/DHEC guidelines.
- Masks: Masks will be required under the current CDC/DHEC guidelines.
- Rain Delay and Alternate Dates: Should the 9 a.m. time be delayed due to rain, ceremonies will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 9 with additional rain dates set for 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 10 and Friday, June 11.
- Livestreaming: All graduation ceremonies will be live streamed for those unable to attend. Details on how to view the livestream will be provided once they are finalized.
- In order to accommodate this plan, all high schools will operate on an eLearning schedule on Wednesday, June 9.
PROM/Senior Sunset Information
After much consideration and discussions by both school and district administration, Prom/Senior Sunset will be held June 4th, from 8 to 10 PM at the CR Stadium. The event is limited to Seniors only and their guest. The event will be semi-formal to formal dress attire.
- Event Details: June 4th from 8-10 PM at the CR Stadium.
- Seniors only and 1 guest.
- Tickets are $25 and will be sold through GoFan.com starting at 4 PM today. Each Senior may purchase 1 ticket. The guest ticket may be purchased after the guest is approved through Ms. Cooper (F221).
- All Catawba Ridge student guests must be approved by Ms. Cooper (F221).
- Outside guests (not from CR) are permitted with the appropriate approved paperwork. Students should see Ms. Cooper (F221) to request this form.
- Ticket payments from last year will be refunded through a check that will be mailed to the address on file sometime in April. Please contact our Bookkeeper, Ms. Salisbury, with any questions.
SENIOR SIGNS
Recognize your CR Senior with a yard sign! This fundraiser was organized by parents and proceeds will all go towards funding special events for our seniors.

Ms. Bauer's Food and Nutrition class took a trip to Italy and prepared homemade marinara sauce, lasagna, and homemade Italian meatballs with spaghetti.

Student Council hosted our 2nd annual Miss Catawba Ridge High School pageant Thursday night. It was a well organized event that could not have been possible without the support of so many students and staff members. Congratulations to our finalists!
