LONESTAR CHALLENGE

Congratulations to those fourth and fifth grade scholars selected to participate in the Lonestar Challenge. As you can see, they are working very hard in preparation for the competition. Also, a special thank you to Ms. Payton-Williams for coordinating this event.

Plan approved to bring renovations and upgrades to more than 20 schools

After more than two months of discussion and refining, the Dallas ISD Board of Trustees approved a plan early this morning that will invest approximately $129.5 million into addressing critical needs at district schools.

The Interim Bridge Plan includes nearly $130 million in projects in available funding and will do the following:

  • Provide needed renovations and facility upgrades to 10 schools with the most pressing needs, based on an external facilities study and overcrowded conditions.
    • Schools, with estimated costs–
      • B.H. Macon ES, $4.9 million
