Time to Dig In.....Evansdale Grounds Clean Up Next Saturday, March 18th
This is it!!! The last major clean-up for this school year!!! Bring your landscaping tools or come use ours and help clean-up the Evansdale School grounds. Some tasks we'd like to tackle include: Weeding the front beds, trim front bushes, weed-eating along the learning cottages, blowing leaves off and edging sidewalks and parking lots, and cleaning of center courtyard. We will also walk the Nature Trail and see what needs to be done. Please bring any tools you would like to donate to the students to take care of the Student Garden. Many thanks for your efforts!!!

What Do Parents Do While Eagles are at School ???
International Night...Exploring the World within our school
We invite you to participate in Evansdale’s International Night by sharing either your own culture or the culture of a country you know and love. This can be done by dressing in traditional clothing, bringing desserts or finger foods for people to taste, displaying artifacts, and/or sharing holiday traditions, etc. All students who attend International Night will be given “passports”, which will encourage them to visit, explore, and learn about each area. Every student who completes his/her passport will receive a small prize.
If you would like to share your culture in some way, please complete and return the form that was sent home in your student's couriers a few weeks ago or contact me at the email or number below. I look forward to traveling with you!

Lacrosse Anyone??
Parents,
We are excited to announce that the Evansdale field will be used for some lacrosse. Druid Lakes Youth Lacrosse Association needed a field and they agreed to help nourish our field back to health if we agreed to let them us it for their practices and games. In
addition to the field being spruced up, they have also generously agreed to host FREE lacrosse clinics here at Evansdale.
If your child has expressed interest in lacrosse or if they are looking to try something new, this is a great opportunity for them to learn some basic lacrosse skills. Children will not need to bring any equipment to the clinics. Everything will be provided for them.
Boys and girls of all ages are encouraged to come out! For more information about
Druid Lakes Youth Lacrosse Association (DLYLA), visit their website at

Henderson Middle School Foundation Annual Campaign, March 6 – 24
Help your child’s future school by making a donation to the HMS Foundation! The foundation’s goal is to enrich the school academic and cultural offerings. Because of the foundation, HMS has been working towards becoming a STEM school - a nationally recognized accreditation that strengthens our science, technology, engineering and mathematics instruction and attracts corporate expertise and investment. We are making progress toward that goal! This year, HMS has one STEM team in 7th and 8th grades, and they have been a great success. More teams will be added in the future.
But it’s not just about STEM. You probably know that HMS is undergoing renovations and is getting a new wing. The money raised this year can also be used to help purchase equipment or supplies that might be needed for the new wing.
This means that donations made today will go to programs that directly impact your rising elementary student. Your participation will help ensure the HMS Foundation can continue supporting the school. Remember – a strong school makes for a strong neighborhood.
How to donate: Please visit the website http://www.hmsfoundation.org/donate-now.html to make a donation online or for information how to donate by check. If you have questions, please email info@hmsfoundation.org.MARCH
