The Kennedy Pride

January News

Note from the Principal

Hello Kennedy Families!

I hope you are enjoying the new year. We are in the swing of things and excited about 2017 at Kennedy Elementary School. We have reviewed our Kennedy BEST expectations and are ready for the second half of the year. Please talk to your children about Being Safe and Healthy, Engaging in their Learning, Showing Respect to Others, and Treat Property with Respect.

I want to remind everyone to please slow down during drop off and pick up times. We want to be as safe as possible and your help would be appreciated. Please do not double park in the East Parking Lot. We are also trying to keep the hallways clear at the end of the day, so if you could wait outside for your students that would be appreciated as well. However, Kindergarten parents are free to come in and get their children.

We are so proud of all of our students! We are Kennedy!!!!!

Thank you for all of your support!

Pause to Read Program!!!

Thank you for supporting our reading at home initiative. We have had almost 400 students reach the 100 Paw club. Each student who has reached the 100 paw mark gets to sign the 100 Paw Board. We are now over a 100 students in the 250 Paw Club and even a few in the 500 Paw Club. We are hoping that each student will read 30 minutes a night. Every 15 minutes of reading earns a paw for the student. "Pawsing" to read is a great way to spend some quality time with children as well as improving your child's reading ability. Thanks for Reading at home!!!

Kennedy School Assemblies

Each month we have an all school assembly to show our school pride, celebrate Reading success, recognize ALPS award winners, and listen to some awesome guest speakers. Our 5th Grade Students lead us in cheers and we get excite to be at such an awesome school. Our guest speaker this week was Seth Rausch, who actually works at Kennedy, and he talked to us about being in Drama. He explained how it has changed his life and he even gets to work at Disney World in the summers because of drama.
