Message from PTO
Please take time to fill out the survey regarding the PTO proposed bylaws. The survey can be accessed at this link through Saturday, March 9: https://goo.gl/forms/vhVfe2p1Rh4jF2l82 We will be sharing the results of the survey and voting on the new bylaws at the next PTO meeting on Tuesday, March 12, at 5:30 pm. Please mark your calendars to attend!
Thank you to everyone who showed their support to Auburn School and PTO on Tuesday by participating in our Spirit Night at Roys Bar-B-Que.
Box Tops have been compiled and are being mailed on Saturday, 3/1; we will announce the classroom winner soon. Thank you to Savannah Hendricks for being the Auburn PTO Box Tops Coordinator and to the parent volunteers who helped sort the box tops last Wednesday at the school; we appreciate you.
We are excited to offer a “Creative Opportunity” contest to all students at AES outside of school. We are also looking for 3 PTO volunteers to serve as the contest judges on Thursday, 3/14 from 9-10 am at the school. Please email the PTO with subject line “Contest” at AuburnKyTigersPTO@gmail.com if you are interested in serving as one of the judges for the competition.
Remind Update
Dear Auburn School,
We’re sorry to write with disappointing news. Recently, we learned that Verizon will be charging Remind a new fee that makes it impossible for us to continue supporting free text messaging for anyone who has Verizon Wireless as their phone carrier.
What’s happening?
To offer our text messaging service free of charge, Remind has always paid for each text that our users receive or send. Now, Verizon is charging Remind an additional fee intended for companies that send spam over its network. Your Remind messages aren’t spam, but our efforts to resolve the issue with Verizon haven’t been successful.
As a result, the Verizon fee will increase our costs of providing text messaging by 11X—pushing our annual costs into the millions of dollars. This isn’t financially feasible for us to support, and it’s forcing us to end Remind text messaging for everyone who has a wireless plan with Verizon.
How will this affect you?
Beginning January 28, 2019, if you have VERIZON WIRELESS as your phone carrier, you will NO LONGER receive Remind messages as texts.
What can you do?
If you have Verizon as a cell service carrier, please download the mobile Remind app or enable email notifications – both free of charge – to ensure you continue to receive important messages from school.
Sincerely,
The Remind team
