G/T Referral and Testing – Grades K-12:
Any students in grades K-12 may be referred for the Gifted/Talented (G/T) program between September 1, 2021 and September 30, 2021. See Humble ISD Advanced Academics Website for more information and for the referral form to refer your child.
If you have any questions about the referral or assessment process, please contact Jennifer Turner at JTurner@humbleisd.net.
Afternoon Pick-Up
Parents who are willing to pick up in the circle drive or bus lane at 4:12 - 4:15 pm will have NO wait -- in and out of the circle drive in 90 seconds.
Parents can coordinate to pick up their child in Atasca South or Walden, but do not block the driveway of our neighbors as this is interfering with their personal property. We will work with our neighbors to make sure students are safe and respecting their personal property.
Volunteer in the Child Nutrition Department
Humble ISD Child Nutrition Department is looking for volunteers to help serve lunch in school cafeterias for a few weeks. Please take a look at the available shifts and consider signing up for a shift (or two) today. The link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4fafae2ba0fb6-humble1
If you or someone you know would be interested in applying for a job within the Child Nutrition department. Here is the link: www.applitrack.com/humbleisd/onlineapp. This is a great job for a
parent who wants to be available for their child drop-offs and pick ups at school and still earn some money at a job during the day.
If you have any questions or need any additional information about the volunteer opportunities, please do not hesitate to contact Marilyn Mann at (281) 641-8142 or (832) 276-6454 – cell.
We appreciate all you do to make Humble ISD great.
Late Work Practices & ZAP
Students who don't submit work within 3 days will be referred to ZAP, which means "Zeros Aren't Permitted." Students who have missing assignments would attend ZAP in the morning at 8:00 am, during lunch, or after school until 4:30 pm to complete missing work.
Lunch-Do Not Door Dash
Please do not order your student Door Dash, Uber Eats, or other pay-to-deliver food services. The drivers do not put the student's lunch on their designated lunch cart, nor will our office staff sign for these food deliveries. Since students will not receive their lunch from these agencies we do not allow parents to use Door Dash, Uber Eats, etc. for food for lunch.
Parents can still bring food up to the school and place it on the appropriate lunch cart.
Parents & Visitors
The pandemic has carved out a "new normal." As COVID numbers in Texas continue to rise we seek to strike a balance between the safety & welfare of staff & students while also providing a supportive, spirited, & engaging campus. One of those areas for balance is access for parents & visitors on the campus. We want parents to be welcome at Atascocita Middle School. So we look forward to parents coming to the Open House nights to meet the teachers, spectating at sporting events, and enjoying fine arts performances. With regards to parent meetings, the "new normal" leads us to differentiate between a crisis and an essential event.
- Crisis events that include, but are not limited to, injury, self-harm, fighting, imminent threat, and bullying would necessitate a face-to-face meeting.
- Essential events that include, but are not limited to, 504 meetings, ARDs, parent/teacher conferences, staff concerns, student concerns, and more can be held as a ZOOM conference or phone conference.
In both cases please coordinate with the grade level Administrative Assistant before coming up to the school to schedule a time.
At this time lunch with a child or classroom visits are not allowable.
LAST WEEK TO APPLY! PAC Student & Parent Board Applications
Additionally, we have two parent positions to fill.
Please check out the student and parent applications on the PAC board application webpage.
Future Panthers Class of 2026
On November 8, 2021, Kingwood Park High School (KPHS) will host a program for your current 8th graders who may be attending KPHS in the Fall of 2022.
Future Panthers (Class of 2026) may come from within our attendance zone, or they may apply for a transfer should they live in other parts of Humble ISD.
After a formal presentation in the Performing Arts Center, students and parents may survey displays featuring KPHS academic and extracurricular programs and meet with many of the teachers who are the programs' sponsors. Instructional Coaches will also be on hand to explain course sequencing.
Parents and students are encouraged to attend. Please use the South (Chanay Lane) parking area and enter into the Performing Arts Center. The program begins at 7 p.m.
Free and Reduced Lunch 2021-2022
While no application or eligibility determination is required for a student to receive free meals this school year, it is still critical for families to apply for free and reduced meals.
This important data allows Humble ISD families to receive benefits such as discounted internet costs, reduced fees for SAT/ACT testing, help with college application fees, potential eligibility if P-EBT benefits are offered in the future, as well as maximizing important state and federal funding for individual schools.
Applications are provided online at schoolcafe.com. Families will need to set up an account and then apply for free/reduced meals. Paper applications are available at the Child Nutrition Services Department located at 1705 Wilson Road, Building D. Households must reapply annually in order to be eligible for free or reduced priced meals. A letter notifying families of the eligibility determination will be sent to both the family’s mailing address and email address. For further information, call 281-641- 8460.
Bus Routes for 2021-2022
General education bus routes are now available online for the 2021-22 school year. Please be sure to check your student's route information as times and route numbers have changed with the opening of the North Transportation Center. Special needs transportation information will be communicated directly to parents by their assigned drivers. For special needs student contact or address changes, please contact your campus's diagnostician." Link is attached below.
