WHATS GOING ON?
WHY SHOULD WE HELP?
Homosexuals and transgenders face many hardships throughout their life. Recently, Mississppi passed a law stated that each person much use the restroom that corilates with the gender "determined at birth" (Bathroom Bills: What Employers Need To Know"). That sadly, is only a part of the difficulties the LGBT community faces on a daily basis. In Uganda, the president made a law making it illegal to be gay. A violation against this law results in aprison sentence of 14 years ("When the Law Is a Crime" 5). Even if one is suspected to be gay, he or she can be sentenced to 10 years in prison ("When the Law Is a Crime" 5). People of the LGBT community face this type discrimination too often and it's time for it to be stopped.
STATES THAT HAVE LAWS DISCRIMINATING THE LGBT COMMUNITY:
ILLINOIS
KANSAS
In Kansas, schools are enforced "to designate restrooms, locker rooms and other facilities for use by males or females according to students' gender at birth" ("Laws Decried as LGBT Discrimination Proposed across Country" 1).
