The Bulldog Brief
We are continuing to strive to keep schools open, and this will continue to require that we work together and share in the responsibility for this. First, I have to ask that our families continue to be mindful of the steps needed to meet the health and safety guidelines, including continued communication with us regarding symptoms and travel that requires quarantine. Call the front office any time your child is out of school. I must also ask that you remain patient with us as we anticipate increased challenges with staffing and student attendance in response to quarantine requirements over the next few months.
Next week, starting January 25th, our NWEA testing begins. You will hear from your classroom teacher what dates your children will be taking their testing. It is important that the students get rest and are to school on time.
NWEA Testing Starting January 25th
Virtual Day Monday, February 8th
Dear Inland Lakes Community,
On Sunday, February 7th a majority of the staff at ILS will be receiving their second dose of the COVID vaccine – this shot seems to have some short-term side effects including headaches, body aches, fever, extreme fatigue, and nausea. If only 10% of ILS staff suffer from these side effects on Monday and are too ill to return to work we would be in a bind due to the lack of substitute teachers, bus drivers, etc.
In order to prevent the disruption of a last-minute closure we have decided to make Monday, February 8th a virtual day for all grades. Each teacher will share out a plan with their students the week prior so all are able to complete work at home that day.
Once again, we thank you all for your continued support and understanding as we navigate this unprecedented school year!
Thank you and stay safe,
This year we created nature trails for the students to walk on and learn about nature during their mask breaks.
Our kiddos love recess, snow and all.
