Halloween Costume Guidelines
In an effort to enjoy and celebrate Halloween at CCID appropriately, respectfully and in accordance with school rules, we ask that families and students adhere to the following guidelines when selecting and wearing costumes.
All costume preparations are to be completed at home. Costumes must be comfortable and be expected to be worn all day.
NO FULL FACE PAINT AND / OR MASKS ARE ALLOWED. Students must be able to sit, walk, breathe, see and hear!
NO COSTUMES THAT DEPICT VIOLENCE, HORROR, OVERLY SCARY OR VIOLENT CHARACTERS ARE ALLOWED.
Costumes that depict violence, alcohol, gangs or drugs are not permitted. Costumes that could be considered disrespectful, derogatory, offensive or perpetuate a stereotype of someone’s culture, race, gender, heritage, nationality, handicapped condition or religion are not allowed.
Costumes should not hinder students ability to participate in class, including fitness. Costumes may not disrupt or impede traffic, or present issues of safety in the classroom or hallway.
No weapons or imitation weapons of any kind, or other accessories that may be used as weapons, will be allowed. Staff members will confiscate any other accessory that is used improperly or is considered inappropriate for school.
Costumes must be appropriate and follow CCID Dress Code. Use good judgment, please! Students who wear costumes that do not conform to the guidelines above will be referred to the school office and call home for a change of clothing.
