Special Messages
Valentine's Day - Valentine’s Day is Tuesday, February 14th, and without a doubt, many members of the Cyclone community are already excited. As you begin to plan, we ask that family members and friends refrain from sending, delivering, or bringing flowers, balloons, or other gifts to Cobb Middle School on Valentine’s Day. Since such gifts are distracting to the learning environment, any items brought to school will remain in the front office until the end of the school day. At 3:35 P.M., students may pick up gifts from Mrs. Davis in order to take them home. We thank you in advance for your support and efforts in ensuring that academics remain the primary focus of the school day.
Teens for Jeans Drive - Cobb MS will join Wakeland HS once again for the Teens for Jeans campaign. This drive is aimed at gathering jeans that are then donated to homeless teenagers, as a pair of jeans is one of the most requested items from homeless youth. We will have a grade level competition with the winning grade earning the use of their personal devices during lunch for one day, Friday March 3rd. (find out more).
Cold, Flu, and more... - Find out more about procedures to follow when your student is sick.
Read-a-Thon - Thank you from the Cobb Library to everyone who came, supported, decorated, and pledged funds to this year's Hogwarts Read-a-Thon. Our Hogwarts readers raised $,5600 for books for kids served at Frisco Family Services Food Pantry and books for homeless kids served through City House!
Huge thanks to Richard Dennis and the Theater Department for the gorgeous wall of art and other decor they created for our event as well as being Hogwarts characters for the kick-off! Cobb parents Terrie Leonard and Robin Smullins provided fabulous photo coverage for the event. Former Cobb parent Katie Blackwell created the stunning stained glass window out front (stop by and see it!), and SO many of you all baked, decorated, brought items and invested your hearts to make this magical evening a reality. Thank you again for your generous support of this very special event. We couldn’t have done it without you!
