Happy Monday everyone! We hope you all had a nice weekend and are doing well. As we are coming to the end of the year we are definitely feeling bittersweet. While we are sure there are some feelings of relief to be done with remote/distance learning, we are feeling a true sense of loss in not being able to see all of our students, especially our 8th graders as we end the year. Please see below for some information concerning the End of the Year procedures and what the next couple of weeks will look like. Lastly, below you will see a button for a Distance/Remote Learning Parent Survey. We would love to hear from you about how these past few weeks have gone and how we can support you better. Distance/Remote Learning...

As we are winding down our year, students should be connected with all their teachers. Please encourage your students that in order to receive credit for their classes they need to be engaged in each one. If they have yet to engage, please have them reach out to their teachers ASAP.

Incoming 6th Grade [5th Grade] Parent Info Night/Virtual Open House

Join us on Wednesday, 5/20 at 5:00pm for a chance to learn, ask questions, and get to know some of our Toro Family. We will be going through some of the necessary information for incoming 6th graders, taking a virtual tour of the school and introducing some of our 6th grade team and staff. Food Services

MDUSD is continuing to provide meals for families that need them. Any student 18 years old or younger, from any school, can come and receive a meal. Food will be distributed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11-12:30 @ EDMS and 8 other district schools.

End of the Year [EOY]

As we wind down the year we have designated times and dates for you to drop off school materials you may have, as well as pick up anything you may have left on campus. End of the Year pick up procedures can be found by clicking here. (Spanish Version here) We will be conducting it in our school parking lot and you will only need to get out of your vehicle to drop your items. Staff will be wearing gloves and masks and be there to assist you. The schedule is posted below and will be the same on Tuesday 5/26 and Thursday 5/28. Please note drop off times vary by your last name. Be sure to follow the procedures outlined in the directions and please follow the county recommendations for social distancing. If you are unable to attend either Tues/Thur, Friday 5/29 will be a make up day from 8-10:30 or 1-3pm. If you would still like to buy a Yearbook please click here.

8th Grade Celebration

We are in the process of working on putting something together for our 8th graders to celebrate them at the end of the year. We will be celebrating them virtually this year and will be pushing out something to all 8th graders and their families. Stay tuned...

Counseling Services for students

Parents please encourage your child to check out Wellness Wednesdays hosted by our Counselors every Wednesday. They are sharing self-care tips, as well as other important information. Students can find details in their school email.

Grading Info [Re-Post]

Lots to review here please take a second to read and share with your student:

  • Grades from 3rd Quarter will be part of the determination for the Credit/No Credit marks for the 4th Quarter and 2nd Semester.
  • Progress Reports will be coming home this week for all students. If a student receives a 'NC' or No Credit they are at risk of not receiving credit. please have them reach out to their teachers to see what they need to do.
  • Report cards for the 4th Quarter/2nd Semester will be sent out in June.
  • Please contact Mr. Clausen by email clausenc@mdusd.org if you have any questions regarding grades.
