Peterborough Elementary School
Principal's Newsletter- October 1, 2021
October 1, 2021
I hope you had a nice week. Today I got the chance to have snack at Putnam Park with the kindergarten classes after their walking field trip to the post office. They got to enjoy the beautiful day, get some exercise, and have some fun at the park.
Kudos to our 2nd graders who took on the challenge of cleaning up our campus! Today they all went outside , and with gloved hands, collected trash around the school. Altogether the 2nd graders collected 523 pieces of trash! Each week they will walk around and collect trash, then compare, through graphing, their results. "It's wonderful to see how excited our students were to help around the school", said Ms. Dunning.
This week the temperatures were pretty cool (it is October after all). We will continue to go outside often so please make sure your children have appropriate cool/cold weather gear. Please reach out to me if they need coats or a sweatshirt, hats or gloves.
Have a great weekend,
Larry Pimental

Open House
In order to keep everyone as safe as possible, here are a few things to note:
1) Everyone needs to sign in and pre-screen at home. If you have any of these symptoms, please stay home:
- Fever (100 degrees or higher)
- Cough, shortness of breath
- Sore throat, nasal congestion, or runny nose
- Fatigue
- Headache/ muscle or body aches
- New loss of taste/smell Nausea/vomiting/diarrhea.
2) Everyone will be required to wear a mask and maintain a distance of 3 feet while in the building.
3) We are hoping to limit who attends to parents and current students. Please no alumni, or extended family members this year.
4) Please RSVP to your student’s teacher so they can plan accordingly.
Open house is a chance for you to see your child's classroom, see some of the work he/she may have done, and say hello to your child's teacher. If you are looking for a more personalized conversation with the teacher, in a few short weeks (November 2nd) we will be hosting Parent-Teacher Conferences. On that day you will have your own time to see your child's class, see some of their work, and speak with your child's teacher individually. Open house is not a required event, so please know that if you can't make it or prefer not to attend this open house, you will have an opportunity again in a couple of weeks at the Parent-Teacher night.
School Pictures Day is Thursday, October 7th!
