Your Weekly Update from Lilja Elementary School
Dr. Marscher's Message
As you read in the district's publication, March is National Disability Acceptance Month. This is a national event focused on the dismantling of barriers and creation of accessible, inclusive practices for individuals with disabilities. Within the Natick Public Schools, we believe that relationships matter, and that all students are entitled to a sense of belonging, competence, and confidence.
To learn more, consider “Jothy Rosenberg, Celebrating Neurodiversity," a community event on March 15th, courtesy of Medfield Public Schools.
Things You Need to Know
1- MATH RESOURCES
Does your child enjoy math puzzles and games? Would you like some fun ways for your child to practice skills and concepts they are learning in school? Here are just a few of our favorite places to find math puzzles and games that build number sense, practice computational skills, and build math thinking. MashUpMath has fun videos to help explain concepts, plus puzzles like Which One Doesn’t Belong?, 2 Truths and a Lie, and Logic Puzzles involving all four basic operations. Greg Tang’s Math Games are highly engaging, and help to strengthen concepts and build fluency in playful formats.
2- **IMPORTANT** ASAP REGISTRATION OPENS MONDAY
Registration for the ASAP program, which includes Early Risers (7am to arrival) and ASAP (dismissal to 6pm) will be 3/13-4/7. SPACE IS LIMITED. Registration is online only. If applicants exceed space available, a lottery of all applications received by midnight on April 9 will determine placement.

4- MISMATCH SOCK DAY MARCH 21ST
Every year on March 21, people all around the world come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing brightly colored, mismatched socks. March 21 is symbolic because people with Down syndrome have 3 copies of their 21st chromosome.
