Halcyon Speaker Series: Birgit Maaß

Birgit Maaß, Linus and Jonah's mother will be joining us in the Hub at lunchtime today, Tuesday 24th March. Birgit works for Deutsche Welle, the German broadcaster as a journalist and has been covering the Alexander Litvinenko case about the Russian former secret service agent who was killed by radiation poisoning in London in 2006. If you are interested in this case, how the justice system works or journalism, please come along!

Upcoming Event: Community Project - Grade 8: Film Night

Thursday, March 26th, 5pm

Halcyon Canteen

Grade 8's community project: Film Night featuring Jurassic Park, the film. Film night will commence at 17.00. There is a cost of £3. Popcorn and drinks will be available.

Wear your PJ or Onesie - Friday 27 March:

Bring in a £1 for the charity Kid's Company. This organisation spoke to us at the start of this term regarding the work that they do with at-risk youth in London. Please wear your PJ and bring in £1 for this great cause!

Athletics in Hyde Park

In PHE sessions for Term 3 students in all grades will start athletics sessions in Hyde Park for one of their double PHE sessions.

During the course of term 3 all students will participate in the following events:

- 100m and 200m sprint

- Long distance running

- Team relay events

- Hurdles

- Beep test

- Shot put

- Javelin

In case of rain we will move the sessions indoors either at SLC or in the Stern Hall.

Students are responsible for bringing a change of shoes, their own water bottles and sun screen if appropriate.

Upcoming Trip: Grade 9 Trip to Blue Elephant Theater
