Returning back to school for a new year is always exciting. We had a lot of excitement at Winter Gardens Elementary as we welcomed students. Right away students were greeted at the door with their own special greeting, parents were welcomed on campus after school to pick up their students, and our after-school program continues to grow. We still have room in our after-school program for our students if you are interested in participating.

As you may already be informed, there is a new COVID-19 strand amongst the US population. We are taking the safest measures possible to prevent the spreading of this virus including sending you General Exposure notices every time we receive notification of a positive case in our school. We make sure that we clean and disinfect exposed locations. We encourage that if your child develops any symptoms of respiratory nature, to self-isolate. We also ask that any student who tests positive remain at home or in isolation for 5-10 days. You can call the office for further guidance set forth by MUSD and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Help.

Winter Garden's Back to School Night will be held on September 14th from 5:00-7:00 P.M. We will begin the evening with a brief presentation of our wonderful WGE teachers in the cafeteria, as well as a short presentation by the school principal. You will then be guided to your student's classroom for a presentation by the teacher. The teachers will provide two presentations both lasting about 1/2 hour in case you have students in multiple classrooms. Our PTA will also be fundraising at the main entrance. We hope you support our PTA on this amazing evening.

Finally, we will be having our multicultural celebration event on Friday, September 15th. If you would like to participate, please reach out to our lead teacher of this event Ms. Benitez or our School Secretary, Ms. Ali Adame. We have a lot of other wonderful activities that we hope you will be participating as we move forward with the start of the school year. As always, your support and partnership is always appreciated.
