STUDENT COUNCIL ATTENDS LEADERSHIP DAY
Student Council members were able to attend the 9th Annual Leadership Day with the Dallas Mavericks. Leadership Day is a seminar to provide insight into aspects of leadership for a professional sports franchise. The speakers were various Mavericks staff in leadership positions as they discuss their personal successes, as well as various leadership traits, styles, and issues. We also learned how leadership and community service are related to the
success of the Dallas Mavericks franchise on and off the court. The students had a great time and it was a great game!

Poverty is one of the sustainable goals that JWAC will be focusing on this year and to that end
JWAC members will be trying to raise a goal of $500 dollars for UNICEF to combat poverty. Members will raise money by going door-to-door on Halloween, sending a box to their parent's workplace and taking it around the cafeteria during lunch to collect spare change from other students.
Parents and Guardians can also support this exceptional cause by donating online. Use the link below and make sure you check the box that is for school/organizations and type in Bedford Junior High JWAC in the appropriate box.

BACK TO SCHOOL YEARBOOK PRICE EXTENDED!
BJH Families – I apologize for the issues with online ordering. At this point I would forget about ordering online and send in payment on campus. Cash or checks made out to BJH may be dropped off in C109 with Mrs. Keneda. I will accept the $40 amount through Friday October 19 since there have been so many issues. If you are interested in adding a name stamp it is $10 additional and adding two symbols (football, cheer, etc.) is an additional $10. Example: book plus name stamp plus symbols would be $60. Please mark clearly on the order form what you would like and include a phone number in case I need to follow up with you. Again, I apologize for the online ordering issues. Balfour has never had these issues before but what a mess this year! As always, I am available by email at susannahkenda@hebisd.edu
