Cloud 9 (weeks of school left)
Greetings Woodcrest families,
While I was working in the hallway yesterday, a student sat down on the floor with me and asked me “Do you have a paper chain to count down to the end of school?” I told the student that I have a paper chain that counts how many days we have until the start of next school year (153 days from today). The student was very underwhelmed by my response.
That student – and all of us – can see the end of this school year is right around the corner. We have nine weeks of school left. Nine weeks for the continued investment in meaningful learning experiences for each of our students.
To make sure that each of our students has the chance to enjoy these last nine weeks of school, I encourage you to continue to do a health screening before sending students to Woodcrest. If a child has any symptoms, they need to stay home. We are all tracking news of variants and their spread. Please be diligent with this and help us keep learning going at school with minimal interruptions.
The Woodcrest community has had very few COVID-19 incidents since returning to learning at school full-time. This isn’t because of luck. It’s thanks to all of us rigorously following Health & Safety guidelines. Thank you. Let’s keep it up and make these the best nine weeks.
Thank you,
John Franke
