  • Sunday Aug. 24 at 9:30am in room 228 upstairs.
  • PARRISH group leaders: 10:00am this Sunday at Buffalo Creek Middle school
  • Wed. Aug. 27 6:00pm in the church lobby Coffee Loft Too

Please RSVP for one of these

I will also tentatively have make ups if needed for "last minute host sign ups" on Wed. 9/3 at 6pm in the lobby, Sat. 9/6 at 6:15pm room 121 and Sun. 9/7 9:30am room 228, but please try to get to Orientation earlier for best results.

Encourage people in your group to step up and Host a Transformed group for seven weeks. Pass this email flyer along to them with the HOST info below.

HOST a "Transformed" Group in Your Home for Seven Weeks!

We are trusting God for 20 new Host Homes for Transformed. We have 5 already! Maybe God is speaking to you about stepping out in faith and being a hosting a group in your home or office for the seven weeks of Transformed. You pick the day and time that works for you. Use the Host Home Commitment Card that will be in the bulletin Aug. 23/24 and the next two weekends.

In addition to off campus, we also need two more Groups for Sunday at 9:00am at the Lakewood Ranch church campus, 1 for 10:30am, and 1 more on Saturday night at 6:15pm.

Maybe that's you! Are you in a Life Group now? Will you pray about multiplying by stepping out in faith to create a group so others can experience what you have? You already know most everything you need to know to Host a group. You just need the Orientation for specifics. We need a lot of our current Group members to step out in faith and by doing so multiply our groups so others can experience what you have.

What does a Host do?

H - Have a heart for the Lord and for people
O - Open up your home and invite people
S - Serve a snack
T - Turn on your DVD player for the teaching, then use the discussion guide

The Orientation times are listed ABOVE.

Cuba Mission 2015 Info Meeting Wed. 9/18 6pm

Woodland, are you interested in going with us to Cuba next July? Our first Cuba mission trip INFO meeting is coming up Wednesday, September 17 at 6pm in the church lobby next to the Coffee Loft Too. Cuba limits us to 10 people on a team. If you've been considering it, please begin praying about going. Must be 18 or older by the time we go and in good physical condition (able to work in the heat all day, and AC is almost non-existent in Cuba. Weather is very similar to here). Cost is approx. $744 but can change. Need current passport.

What we do: in the mornings we do construction work on the Seminary's new classrooms and dorm space. You don't need to be skilled necessarily, there is plenty of simple manual labor to go around :-) But it definitely is a blessing for any who have trade skills too. In the evenings we conduct evangelistic meetings for kids and adults in various house and other churches in the Havana area. You don't need to speak Spanish, but if you do that's great. We have an interpreter at all times too.

The Church in Cuba: Since the mid 90's the evangelical church in Cuba has expanded very rapidly through the house-church movement. While it is very difficult to ever get permission to build a new church, let alone repair an existing one, Baptist and other evangelicals have been launching thousands of house churches. In fact, there are over 10,000 house churches in Cuba and growing--faster than they can get pastors trained. The Baptist Seminary in Havana is over 100 years old and has 700 students at six different campuses. But resources are very scarce. Havana campus students are split into two groups who rotate in and out of Havana each week. And commuting can take an entire day each way as they have to hitch hike from remote cities. And most have a church they pastor or a job as well.

FocusPoint Classes Begin August 27

Our fall FocusPoint semester begins Wed. August 27.
The Vision of His Glory (Revelation) -a study by Anne Graham Lotz, led by Kelly Beale. 10 weeks, ladies.

With an inspiring sense of wonder and a focus on Jesus Christ, Anne Graham Lotz brings clarity and understanding to the book of Revelation. Lotz takes the reader step-by-step through John's eyewitness account of God's plan for our future, emphasizing our hope in Jesus rather than our fear of end times.
