Expiring Soon
We are getting close to the 30-day grace period for free and reduced meals. Please renew ASAP if you feel like you might qualify. See below for details.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress authorized spending that allowed schools to serve free meals for all students. Those funds are not authorized to continue for the 2022-2023 school year. As a result, Cy-Fair ISD must return to charging for school meals and offering free and reduced-price meals based on student eligibility. If you think that your child may qualify for benefits, we encourage you to fill out an application for meal benefits. This application can be filled out electronically at School Cafe (users will need to sign into an existing School Cafe account or create a new one). Applications need to be filled out each school year.

International Dot Day
INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY HISTORY
A book called The Dot by Peter. H. Reynolds inspired International Dot Day. The book is about a caring teacher who encourages a student named Vashti to “make her mark.” Vashti couldn’t draw, so she simply made a single dot on a piece of paper. This little dot was just the beginning of her journey.

Release of Information Forms
If you need Behavior Rating Scales completed or want the school to communicate with an outside entity, private tutor, doctor, etc., you will need to complete a Release of Information form for this school year. You can request this form through the counseling office. When asking teachers to complete Behavior Rating Scales, you will need to give one week’s notice to allow teachers ample time to complete the forms. These forms will be faxed directly to the doctor’s office and you will be notified once this is completed.
Now recruiting WATCH DOGS!
Our Watch Dog program consists of Dads or Father Figures of Great Students who volunteer one day at their child’s school. They will perform a variety of tasks including assisting with the car line in the morning, eating lunch with their child, monitoring the cafeteria, and helping in their child’s classroom. Right now we are collecting emails for our Watch Dog database. If you are interested and haven’t already, please complete the registration link below to add your name and email to our list. We will be sending a sign-up link towards the end of September for dads to pick their date on the calendar. Please contact sandra.ayala@cfisd.net or shannon.zepeda@cfisd.net if you have any questions. We look forward to your participation and hope to see many dads at Farney Elementary!
From the Nurse
Attention PK, K-2 Parents: Please ensure your child has a change of clothes in their backpack.
.
For a child to return to school after being sick, he/she must be fever free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
Student Safety
Student safety is a top priority at Farney Elementary. If you plan to visit our school, please have your picture ID available every time you are here. When you ring the doorbell, front desk personnel will ask the nature of your visit. Please respond in the intercom. Once access is granted, please enter the security vestibule. Visitors are encouraged to wear a mask.
Lunch Visitors
K-5 parents and guardians are invited to visit during lunch starting September 6th. Any other visitors (grandparents, siblings, friends, etc.), must be accompanied by the parent or guardian or have a note giving them permission to eat with the child for each visit. In accordance with CFISD policy, school-age children are not permitted to visit the campus at any time. Due to food and nutrition guidelines, you may bring lunch for your child only. For your convenience, there are tables reserved for you to enjoy lunch with your child. Teachers will call the “Farney Five” at the end of lunch to signal when it is time for your child to say a quick goodbye and rejoin his/her class.
