Hello North Families
This past week has been a confusing and difficult time. As we adjust to the new routine of school, we want to let you know that all school counselors, the social worker, and the care coordinator will be checking their emails throughout the day and will be available for virtual or phone counseling appointments between 9:00-10:00 am and 1:00-2:00 pm. Students who would like to make an appointment can do so by sending an email to their counselor. We understand how hard it can be to stay motivated when you are doing schoolwork at home. In addition, we know that concerns about COVID-19 may be increasing anxieties and concerns outside of academics. Please know that we are here to support you.

Testing Updates
The April 7th District Choice ACT Test for all Juniors has been canceled. The district is currently exploring whether there are alternate testing options.
National ACT Testing has rescheduled its April 4 National Test Date to June 13 across the U.S. All students registered for the April 4 test date will receive an email from ACT informing them of the postponement and instructions for free rescheduling to June 13 or a future National Test date. Access updates directly from ACT regarding national testing here: ACT Updates
SAT — The SAT for May 2 has been canceled. Makeup exams for the March SAT are also canceled. Registered students will receive refunds. Click here for the latest updates.
AP Exams — College Board has decided that 2020 AP exams will be online and taken at home. AP exams will only cover content that most students and teachers covered in class by early March. Each student will decide between two different exam administrations. This will allow students to decide when they are ready to test within the exam window. The full exam schedule will be made available by April 3, 2020. Updates can be found on the College Board Website.
Sample schedule for E-Learning
E-Learning-
Take a deep breath. We are all in this together! We are here FOR each other!
Step 1- Create a google sheet or your preferred way to review requirements for e-learning for each course (as each course may have a slightly different plan). Click here for an example.
Step 2- Make a note of what assignments are coming up or due this week or early next week.
Step 3- Plan times during the week to work on classes, connect with friends, eat, exercise, and sleep. See sample google sheet again- Tab 2.
Here are some helpful guidelines:
Take regular breaks.
Making time to exercise.
Keep to a regular sleep schedule.
Limit distractions when possible (turn off social media notifications, take an hour break from technology, etc).
Set daily and weekly goals.
Make time to socialize, even if it’s virtually.
