Word From The Woods
Bishop Woods School Newsletter - 2.21.21
Greetings Bishop Woods Families,
I hope everyone enjoyed the snow, and the snow day last week!! As we enter the last week in February, I am now hopeful for 7 uninterrupted weeks of instruction between now and April break. I also look forward to some of our middle school students returning to our building for in person instruction on March 4th! Middle school parents...please see below for more details.
Also, our pie and cookie dough fundraiser was extended until THIS TUESDAY as a result of the snow. This is a hard deadline. More details are below.
New Haven Public Schools will be receiving an ESSER II Grant which is providing us with $37.8 million over the next 2.5 years. We want to hear your ideas on how to spend this funding! Please see below for focus group dates and links to register to attend these sessions. Please do your best to attend...I want as many voices from our Bishop Woods family represented as possible.
Our district is sponsoring A Day of Hope & Healing THIS Wednesday, February 24th. This day is designed to provide families and staff with opportunities to learn, meditate, heal, and more. *All students are full remote on Wednesdays to allow for deep cleaning of our school building.
**Based on our return numbers, this plan is subject to change.

Pie & Cookie Dough Fundraiser - DUE THIS TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23RD - HARD DEADLINE
Due to the snow, we have extended our pie & cookie doe fundraiser until THIS TUESDAY, 2/23. This is a hard deadline, as the funding is due to the company on this date.
Frozen pies and cookie dough will be delivered on Wednesday, March 24th in the morning and early afternoon. Please mark this date on your calendar, as the order will need to be picked up at this time as we don't have freezer space to store them.

Community Learning Hubs are safe spaces for children to go during the school day for supervised distance learning with high-speed internet access, social support, and enrichment, in a small cohort of no more than ten children. Children eligible to attend a Hub must be New Haven residents in 1st through 9th grades, registered for the New Haven Public Schools, and demonstrate high need.
