Your Tweetcher for the week of 3/25 was....Gina Johannsen
From showcasing the great opportunities she provides her students in PE class with videos like this Ninja Warrior video, to a simple nine-second video of kindergartners practicing their forward rolls on a warm spring day, she knows how to do it! These two videos reached over 3,500 people!
Your Tweetcher for the week of 4/1 is....Jessie Thompson
As a classroom teacher, Jessie does a great job of providing relevant and practical learning opportunities, like this for her students. Showcasing how we are providing opportunities for students to apply what they are learning is a great way to show our community that we are preparing our students for their futures!

Open Enrollment season is right around the corner!
This is the time where you can make changes to your benefits for the new plan period July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020. Health, Dental, and Vision enrollment will be completed online via the BenefitSolver system; all other enrollments will be completed by paper. However, we will still have time carved out where you will meet with myself and representatives from our insurance carriers, including AFLAC, to discuss plan options in detail.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

GET TO KNOW......Gina Johannsen
*Tell us what you do in the CSD, how long you have been here and why you enjoy being a Cardinal.
I am the Physical Education Teacher at Henry Elementary and Clinton Intermediate. I also have coached the CIS archery team for 7 years. I have been teaching in Clinton for 20 years but have also taught an additional 11 years in Guam, Georgia, Virginia, and Hawaii. I like teaching in Clinton because from Sherman, to roller skating, archery, Walk to School, etc., the admin and staff have always supported the PE program.
*Tell us a little bit about your family/where you are from.
We were a military family and moved to Clinton 20 years ago. My children both graduated from Clinton High School. Trevor is married and has an 8 month old daughter. He will graduate in May from the University of Hawaii with a Master's degree in Marine Conservation. Casey is a kindergarten teacher in the Leesville School District and lives in Clinton. I graduated from Raytown South High School, UMKC, and finally UCM, with a Master's in Exercise Science.
*What could you eat everyday and never grow tired of?
I could eat ice cream everyday and never get tired of it, but I am very afraid of the consequences.
*What did you want to be when you were growing up?
I had wanted to be a teacher since 3rd grade. After having an amazing PE teacher in 6th grade, that became my career goal.
*Name 3 things on your bucket list.
*Take an "around the world" trip
* Hike the Appalachian Trail from beginning to end
* Live in a beach house
What are 3 things people would be surprised to know about you?
*When I was about 12, I went to Boy Scout Camp on Visitors Sunday and beat all of the boys in the troop in an arm wrestling competition. (Did I mention I have 5 brothers that didn't let me be a girly-girl?)
*I never followed soccer until Sporting came to KC and now I can't miss a game.
*When I lived in Guam, I alternated between scuba diving, sailing, and dirt bike riding on the weekends.
