This week's new word sort will be in your child's red folder today. Just a friendly reminder that we will have an assessment over the spelling of these words on Friday!
This week in Language Arts
-We have added Listen to Reading on an I touch and Word Work on an I pad to our Daily Five rotations. The learners are very excited about these new opportunities!
-We will be creating a piece of writing about how to make a root beer float.
-We will also be writing to compare children of the 50's to children of today.
-We will practice correct formation of the lowercase letters y and j as well as reviewing the lowercase letters that we have practiced so far.
-This week's words are: not, what, all, were, we
Please make sure that your child can quickly read these words by the end of the week.
-We will be reviewing nouns this week and starting to learn all about verbs!

Science and Social Studies
- We will be discussing the importance of Veteran's Day and writing about Veteran's Day in preparation for our school-wide assembly next Monday.
- On the 50th day of school, we will be discussing life in the present and past as we compare ourselves to children of the 50's.
