26th Annual Massachusetts Statewide Undergraduate Research Conference

The 26th Annual Massachusetts Statewide Undergraduate Research Conference will take place at UMass Amherst on Friday, April 24, 2020 from 8:00am-5:00pm.

Undergraduates from across Massachusetts will come together to present original research in their respective fields. This is an opportunity for you to present academic work in a formal setting, receive feedback from faculty and scholars in your field, exchange ideas with other undergraduate scholars, and enhance your résumés. Last year, over 1200 students presented their work related to:

Capstone research
Creative work in the visual and performing arts
Course assignments
Independent study
Community service
Study abroad

Please consider participating in this event either individually or in small groups. You can prepare poster presentations, ePoster presentations, or oral presentations. All projects must be sponsored by a faculty member.

The Next Steps to take are:
1. Reach out to your Campus Contact (Elizabeth Osborne at eosborne1@worcester.edu) with questions about the conference or submission process.
2. Contact faculty members to identify one who will sponsor your project and assist you with your abstract.
3. Write your abstract.
4. Register and create a user login. Registration opens December 16. A working link to the registration system will be provided at that time.
5. Submit your abstract for review by February 14, 2020.
6. Your abstract must be reviewed and approved by your Faculty Sponsor.

The reading is open to all in the WSU community (students, faculty and staff) and the community at large. Let's celebrate what can be found in poems. One Poem .series is meant to foster a community of writers, readers, and listeners. Please join us.

Romeo and Juliet Opens Nov. 21-24 - Visual and Performing Arts Dept.
Worcester State's Visual and Performing Arts Department brings this "pair of star-crossed lovers" to the stage as the two find each other against a backdrop of strife that pits neighbor against neighbor in one of the world's greatest romantic stories.
The production runs Nov. 21, 22 and 23 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 24 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available through VPABoxOffice@worcester.edu, (508) 929-8843 or at the door. Come hear the WSU Chorus and Chorale in Winter's Spirit: A Celebration in Song. The groups perform the music of Stopford, Howells, John Lennon, along with light classical music and holiday favorites.
