Parent Conference Update

As has been the case in so many situations this year, we will be trying something new this year for conferences. Most teachers will have a mixture of conferences on the 21st of October in the afternoon and evening. In addition, some folks will look at other times throughout the next few weeks to finish parent conferences. Teachers will have a mixture of both in-person or remote conferences as well. Our goal for these changes is to continue our best efforts for safety, but also to recognize the convenience that was afforded to families last year during our remote meetings.

With all of that being said, some teachers have reached out already with a way to sign up, but the remainder of the classes will be available starting Tuesday using a link that will be provided in an email home.

Thank you all for working so steadily with us!

News From Tech

Up in the tech lab, students across all grades are coming near the end of their second rotation. Kindergarteners are learning how to navigate across websites as well as using their Chromebooks to create images. Lots of creativity is on display there! Fall is certainly evident with the 1st graders creating fall leaves pictures in Wixie while 2nd grade have been learning about digital citizenship and tuning up their programming skills on Code.org. 3rd grade have been continuing their work on highlighting ways to be digital citizens while 4th grade has been learning about the ads we see and how to keep our computers and accounts safe. In the 5th grade, students have been doing great work around cyberbullying and what we should do when we encounter it. There’s been awesome work across all grade levels!

When Calling Students Out Sick...

Calling your student out sick always feels like there is a fine line as to how much detail needs to be shared and how much is too much for Mrs. Pilsbury to hear. However, the nurses' office is asking you to provide as much detail as possible in order to allow them to follow up as needed. Thank you.

A Note From The PTA

The September PTA meeting was tremendously attended, so thank you to all of the folks that took some time to join us. We recently sent home the Lyman Pie Fundraising form. Those are due back by October 18th. The next PTA meeting is scheduled to take place in the library on Wednesday, October 13th (6:30 PM start time). Finally, the PTA tallied up the JRB School Council parent representative forms. The top three totals were as follows:
