Principal's Message

BRS had a great time celebrating Read Across America! It's clear that we're wild about reading!

Students enjoyed reading books with their classmates, participating in activities with other grade levels remotely, and listening to guest readers. Thank you for participating with us this past week.

We are preparing for the upcoming return of hybrid students on Monday, March 22nd. A reminder to all families to please complete the AUXS health screening questions by 7:30 AM each day. We greatly appreciate your help with this.

Chromebook Reminder

Please make sure that your student is bringing a fully charged Chromebook to school each day. We do not have extra Chromebooks or chargers available for the students. With that in mind, they should bring their charger with them just in case. The Chromebooks should not be left on for days at a time. They should be rebooted and shut down on a regular basis.

If the Chromebook seems to be running slower than usual, check for updates. You can always clear your cache or try rebooting the device. Click here for directions on how to easily do this on a Chromebook.

Parent Survey

As we continue with our grant work in Lumberton we are looking for your input.

The U.S. Department of Education requires that we survey our students, families and staff to provide a comprehensive picture of our schools' climate. A multi-perspective approach is important because each of the stakeholders experience school climate differently.

The ED School Climate Surveys (EDSCLS) are a suite of survey instruments developed for schools, districts, and states by the U.S. Department of Education's (ED) National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). Lumberton community members can take the survey by clicking here:

https://rowan.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5n0v9SwwVcZgRNP (English and Spanish)

This survey will close for responses on Friday, March 19th.

5th Grade Student Voice Club

A Student Voice Club is being formed, and we're looking for eager and excited 5th grade students who have ideas and want to make a difference. This club will take place completely remote using Google Meet after school.

If your student is thinking about joining please have them complete the form here by Monday, March 15th!

Preschool Expansion

The Lumberton Township School District is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a Preschool Expansion Grant from the New Jersey Department of Education. This award will allow the district to provide FREE, high quality preschool to a number of our three- and four- year-old students. The district will be partnering with the Center for Family Services to provide free, high quality preschool to Head Start eligible Lumberton children immediately upon enrollment.

Families must meet the criteria as outlined by Head Start, though some exceptions may be made for families moderately over these amounts. These income guidelines may be waived for families with special circumstances who might benefit from placement in Head Start.

What if I am not comfortable sending my child to school at this time?

There are several service delivery options available, including a fully remote option.

What do I do if I am interested in enrolling my child in the program?
