Where Excellence is the Standard -Week of November 28, 2022
Principal's Message
Dear Lions,
We are in the home stretch of our first semester. Below is important information regarding exemptions, final exam dates, and STAAR End of Course re-rest dates. Please know that we will be sending out several alerts this week as friendly reminders.
Please look below to review our exemptions process and frequently asked questions. All families will receive an electronic copy of our finals schedule later this week. It is important to know students are prohibited from taking exams early. If a student is absent, he/she will be provided a make up date in January.
If your student needs to clear up any absences, please contact our attendance clerks Ms. Major or Ms. Kirchheiner. If there are any discrepancies regarding absences please contact your child's grade level administrator.
We are starting failure conferences with students who are in danger of failing for the semester. We will conduct conferences with both parents and students. Randle Counselors will be reaching out to schedule these meeting. We will focus on our new Lions Level Up Program.
STAAR Information
This six weeks we will be administering the December STAAR retest. Please be on the look out if your student will need to take this test. We will send a call out for all Sophomores and Juniors who need to pass the STAAR assessment. We have sent home additional information regarding our STAAR BLITZ program for the the week of November 28. I want to remind all students and families, this test counts for graduation.
REPEAT INFORMATION
Everyone is expected to adhere to the expectations of wearing their ID's every day. All students MUST keep Airpods/ear buds out of your ears during all instructional time and during the transition to and from classes. If you are receiving a new ID, the cost is $5 dollars. As stated before, there is a hold on your exemptions until this is paid. We will begin sending notifications to parents of students who have had their cell phone taken up or have received a new ID.
I would like to recognize the majority of our student body who have been wearing their ID's. Keep leading by example; you are doing your part to make Randle great!
If you ordered a grade level spirit package, the orders will be placed this week and all items should be delivered to the campus after Thanksgiving break. We will also be taking Class Panoramic pictures. It is highly suggested that all students purchase Class shirt for the picture. You can also pre-order your Panoramic picture at a discounted price.
Students Information
Being punctual is a key component to being successful. Being on time to class is an expectation. Below is the campus tardy policy. Please review the policy and campus expectation with your students.
- Tardies: Tardy students must have tardy pass to enter the classroom. The teacher collects the tardy pass and discards the pass, so it is no longer used as a pass.
- 1st - 4th Tardy offenses are warnings.
- 5th Offense: Lunch Detention
- 6th Offense: Lunch Detention
- 7th Offense: Lunch Detention
- 8th Offense: Saturday School
- 9th “+” Offense: ISS
We want everyone on the same page. We are here to help. Our goal is to help you and your student achieve their goals.
Sincerely,
John Montelongo

The Mane Market is Open!
We have been so proud of our Lions for all of the great things they have done this year. Students have been getting to class on time, wearing ID's, and working hard in class. Mr. Montelongo has incorporated a school store just for our students. This store has snacks, drinks, Randle gear, and much more. Again, this is for the students who earned it by doing all the right things on campus and as a birthday appreciation gift from Mr. Montelongo.
With that being said, we have opened the Mane Market for students. At any given time students can receive Lion Loot or tokens. Campus leaders and selected teachers have been giving out these tokens to students. These tokens are also sent with a birthday card each month. Tokens are used to purchase items from the Mane Market.
ID cards and Student Agendas
IDs and agendas are a requirement. All students are expected to wear their ID's daily. In order to leave the class for any reason, every student must be wearing an ID and have their agenda completed and signed by the teacher.
TRHS PTO
All meetings will be held the last Wednesday of each month. The focus of the RANDLE PTO is to work collaboratively in creating learning opportunities for our students. We are working to great things and we need your help. We are focusing on the following topics:
- Bullying/ Cyberbullying
- The Impact of Social Media
- Texting and Driving
- Mental Health
SAFETY MATTERS
THIS IS IN FULL EFFECT FOR ALL EXTERIOR DOORS THIS YEAR!
THIS IS IN FULL EFFECT FOR ALL EXTERIOR DOORS THIS YEAR!
- Do not knock or beat on doors in order to enter the building.
- You must walk around and enter through the front entrance.
- Leaving a door propped open is a safety hazard.
- All doors must be locked and closed at all times.
PICTURE ID SMART TAG REQUIRED FOR ALL LCISD STUDENTS AND EMPLOYEES!
This year ID's ARE MANDATORY! $5 replacement charges are in place now!
ID's (lanyards and a protective case) have all been passed out and MUST be worn and visible at all times! If you do not have one, you must see Dr. Bogarty first thing in the morning for a replacement. We will start doing ID sweeps this week, and anyone without one will be charged $5 and given a new one. This is NOT optional, as it is part of dress code. If you keep losing it you will KEEP being charged. We will be sending weekly "fine" email reports to your parents. Not paying is not an option, and there will be a hold placed on your final semester grades and exemptions will NOT be an option.ar, as an increase to our safety measures, students and staff are required to wear their identification badge at all times. Student badges will serve as the student ID and SmartTag all in one card. This will happen during the first week!
Cell Phone Policy
Your child's education is of the utmost importance to us, therefore we want to place a priority on minimizing distractions. Beginning Monday, August 22, 2022, Randle High School has instituted a no cell phone policy during class.
Students are allowed to bring cell phones to school and are allowed to use them before school, during lunch, and after school. Phones should not be visible and in use between passing periods or during class, unless students are provided permission by the teacher.
For clarification, cell phones can be in the student's possession, but the phone must be put away during the instruction. If a student has their cell phone visible, without teacher/staff member permission, they will be asked to give their cell phone to the teacher/staff member. They will receive their cell phone at the end of the day from the front office. The following information will be posted in every classroom:
- Phones must be put away at ALL TIMES during instructional time, unless there is an instructional purpose GIVEN by the teacher. If you refuse to follow this expectation, it will result in a discipline referral. (NOTE: Phones are allowable before 8:15 AM, during the student's 30-minute lunch time, and after 3:40 PM.)
- Ignoring a teacher or staff member when they ask that to put away your cell phone will result in a discipline referral.
- All students must have their planner hall pass signed by a teacher to be out of their scheduled class. Students without a pass will receive a discipline referral.
- Instigating, participating, or video recording any type of altercation, harassing/bullying, or any other student code of conduct offenses with your cell phone will result in a discipline referral and possible alternative school placement.
Please know that educating our Randle High School students is our number one priority, and we place a precedence on having a safe and secure school. We appreciate your support and partnership in maintaining an environment and culture where learning is the focus.
COVID-19 Protocols

BELL SCHEDULES
Randle High School and Wright Junior High Traffic Flow Map
Our goal is to ensure that all students get to campus safely and on time. Adhering to the appropriate drop off area will assist in a smooth and safe drop off. Parents who have students at both Randle HS and Wright can drop their students off in the areas where the black dots are located. Cones will be out to help direct traffic.
Please do not hesitate to contact the campus if there are any questions. Let's make this year a year to remember! #RISE&GRIND

SMART TAG INFORMATION
Dear Lion Parents,
This year, as an increase to our safety measures, students and staff are required to wear their identification badge at all times. Student badges will serve as the student ID and SmartTag all in one card.
We will also provide all students and staff with an emergency safety card to be worn with their ID Badge. This requirement is just one of several new safety additions that we are incorporating this year. The safety card contains Lamar CISD's Standard Response Protocol, important emergency numbers, as well as a QR code that links directly to the district’s anonymous tip line. Badges will be distributed with student SMART Tags.
In addition, the LCISD Communications Team has produced a safety video for families that highlights the safety standards that have been in place and what additions have been implemented this year. To access the safety video, CLICK HERE.
