Calling ALL Superhero Parents!!!

STAAR Superhero Training Camp is a fun-filled week of relevant review to get students ready for STAAR testing. 3rd grade students will be participating in activities that challenge their thinking and prepare them for challenges ahead. We would like our pod to be transformed into a Superhero hideout in order to set the tone for the week. We are asking that parents meet in the pod at 3:30 on Thursday, April 14th to transform our pod. Any materials that can be made ahead of time are appreciated. Friday our CSHS Superheroes will arrive to get our students pumped up and ready for the upcoming week. Thank you for all you are doing to help us.

Lemonade Day Project

Next on our schedule is an in-depth study of financial literacy by participating in the Lemonade Day program. Our classes will design a business plan, purchase materials, advertise, set up and run a lemonade stand. For more information about this awesome program, see their site.

I will be sending more information about our actual stand in the coming days. Let me know if you have any questions.

Fine Arts & Book Fair night this Tuesday, April 12th

This is going to be a great night of entertainment, art, and books!

Scheduled activities:

  • All students will have their artwork framed and displayed in the gym.
  • Spoons will be serving yogurt in the cafeteria.
  • Painting With a Twist in the art room.
  • Brazos Valley Troupe will perform songs from Shrek, the Musical.
  • 1st graders will be performing at 6:30.
  • CSHS Strutters will be performing at 7:00.

  • Book Fair in the library!

GP Book Fair is this week!!!

The book fair is open daily Monday- Friday.

The profits earned at our book fair are used to fund the Visiting Authors Program and to purchase books for our library. Due to successful Book Fairs in the past, we were able to provide author visits to 1st-4th grades this year. We'd love to expand the program to include Kinder and PreK next year. Book Fairs are the only fund-raising events the library holds each year.

Boundary Adjustments

  • The CSISD School Board is seeking community input regarding future school boundary adjustments. Community meetings will be April 12th at noon at the CSISD Transportation Center.

STAAR Benchmark Results

Last week your child completed the STAAR Math and Reading Benchmark assessments in preparation for the upcoming STAAR tests. We will use the data we collect to plan instruction and tutorials for the next few weeks. You will receive a note in Monday folders that indicates if your child has passed the test according to 2015- 2016 STAAR standards. Please note that all tested material had not been taught prior to the practice test.

If you have specific questions, please contact us.
