What is bullying?

Bullying is defined by three main elements:

  1. Repeated - The unwanted, aggressive behavior(s) by the bully occur over and over.
  2. Intentional - The bully is purposely causing harm. This is no accidental bump in the hallway.
  3. Imbalance of Power - Power comes in many shapes and forms, and the imbalance of power can be real or perceived. The bully could be bigger and stronger, or more popular, more quick-witted, or more outgoing.

And Then There Is Technology....

What is Cyberbullying?

Cyberbullying is the use of technology to bully others. Often it is in addition to bullying that occurs in person. Cyberbullying can occur 24/7, even when the victim is alone. Sometimes it is difficult to know who the bully is, since online bullying can be anonymous.
