Attendance/Tardies
We miss your students when they are not here! Regular attendance is essential for school success. Please support your students in making sure that when they are healthy, they are in class on time. We are seeing a large number of tardies and absences – please speak to your students about the importance of arriving to class on time.
Keithley Kolt Tardy Policy
A student is tardy to class when he/she arrives at class after the scheduled start time. Students are expected to enter class quietly, sign in on tardy sheet, quietly take their seat, and follow CHAMPS expectations to engage in the learning taking place. Teachers are expected to input tardies into Skyward when entering attendance. Tardies reset quarterly. Students who arrive late to school must check in at the Attendance Office before going to class. Tardy slips are not required for students who are tardy throughout the school day – report directly to class.
Progressive discipline is as follows:
Tardies 1-4
Teacher will: Seek first to understand. Help student to remove barriers. Review expectations with student. Call home.
Tardies 5-7
ODR submitted. Attendance Case Manager will conference with student and create a plan for improvement/contract with student. Attendance Case Manager will call home. Wednesday Restoration (after school) will be assigned; this happens early release Wednesdays from 12:30-2:00 pm.
Tardies 8+
ODR Submitted. Handled by grade level administrator. Restorative Actions on a case – by – case basis. Actions may include: parent meeting, lunch social time revoked; and/or altered passing period.
Arriving Late/Leaving Early
Please check-in at the office to sign your student out. The school will always call you first if your student is in need of being picked up.

COVID Safety Reminders
Distancing and masks: By now we are all fully aware of the standard safety measures to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. Social-distancing, proper wearing of masks, sanitization, and consumption of food limited ONLY to the Commons are all schoolwide expectations. Following these guidelines are crucial to avoiding possible quarantine due to an exposure. Students not following these guidelines will receive a call home from an administrator.
Please keep your student home if they are experiences illness or Covid related symptoms. This is helpful in preventing possible contact tracing or quarantines. If you are unsure of whether or not to send your student to school, please call our office and we can help. You can also click here to see the safety guidelines we are following in our district.
