Updates and information...

Thank you for your help with Teacher Appreciation Week. We appreciate you stepping in and teaching your children for us. We know what teaching requires and are thankful to you for taking over during this wild time. We have released the dates for our PK and Kindergarten registration. Please begin locating the required documents now and be ready on the assigned day for registration. Current PK students do not need to register for K if they will be attending South Fork again. At this time, we are planning to have dates in May (after May 15th) for parents to pick up student materials, and to pick up yearbooks and testing shirts if they were ordered. More details will be released concerning pick ups after May 15th when we get new information from the Governor. Please be on the lookout for that info to be sent out. If your student has library books to return, there will be a box outside the office during the hours we are open Mon to Thurs 8-2. Please place the book in the box and we will empty the box each day.

5th grade parents, Mr. Clark, Principal of the new Walker Junior High, sent out school call last week with info on scheduling. I'm including the info below. Be sure to go to the Walker Freshman High website and then click the button for Walker Junior High for info. Scheduling opens on Tues, May 12th and closes on Thurs, May 21st.

The information about student promotion to the next grade will be finalized over the next two weeks. The final points needed to pass a course was adjusted and students only need 2 quality points (at minimum 2 D's) to pass the course. For students who were in danger of retention and received a possible retention letter before the closure, it's critical that they continue working on things from the teachers. Student final grades will be determined using grades from Quarters 1 to 3 and calculated using the total points earned. If a student is close to promoting to the next grade, we can look at their work over the break and see if they've improved enough to move on. Please know that we will contact families individually the week of May 18-22 if your student has not met the requirements to move on to the next grade.

Report cards will be mailed to the address on file on June 2nd. If you have moved and are no longer going to attend South Fork next year, you can call to give us your new address to have your report card mailed. If you have moved and will still attend South Fork, you can call and give us your new address and arrange to come by and bring in your new proofs of address for us to copy for your student's files.

How can you help students keep learning at home?

Go to and then click on TEACHER WEBSITES at the top. Once on their website you will be able to see resources and information about learning activities for each week. Teachers will update this weekly. Please check back to see updated information. I will continue our weekly newsletters to share information.
