SPIRIT TEAM STEERING COMMITTEE UPDATES
The Reveille United Methodist Church SPIRIT Team steering committee is having a wonderful time as they meet monthly to review and plan programs and events in the Swansboro community. SPIRIT is the acronym for Swansboro Partners Inspiring Relationships in Christ Together. Many thanks to the following team members for their time, ideas and support: Sheelagh Davis, Laura Holdych, Patsy Buelow, Carol Kern, Carol Hampton, Tommy Threewitts, Carol Shaughnessy, Linda Thornton, Shirley Bogaev, Mary Evans, Jill Gaynor and Reverend Katie Anthony. This newsletter will update you on all the exciting programs and plans that God is growing in Reveille's Swansboro Outreach Ministry.
Much To Celebrate
Congratulations to Toni Allen of Koinonia Christian Church
Reveille would like to extend congratulations to Antoinette (Toni) Allen, youth director and Girl Scout leader at Koinonia Christian Church. Toni was awarded the prestigious Presidential Community Service Award at Fifth Baptist Church on Monday, January 19th at a special service remembering Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Toni has been instrumental in establishing the ministry partnership between Reveille and Koinonia this past year. She took youth from Koinonia and joined with Reveille this past summer for the mission trip to Oklahoma and has organized several youth game nights for Koinonia and Reveille to enjoy. In addition to helping with Musical Mondays at Koinonia, she has organized a new young adult program. Toni has also been active for many years in mission work to Haiti. She is married to Kelvin Allen and they have two talented children, Telvin and Taniya. Toni is an inspiration to all who know her and love her for her humble, joyful spirit and dedication to Christ. Congratulations to Toni for an honor well deserved.

Excitement at Swansboro Elementary
Much is happening at Swansboro Elementary School! Reveille is blessed to be involved in many projects to support the wonderful students and staff. On Friday, January 16th, many Reveille members volunteered at a "Book Tasting" event where students enjoyed tasting food they had previously read about in class. There were also special activities to commemorate the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Linda Gill, Sheelagh Davis, Elizabeth Evans and Jean Donaldson were among the Reveille volunteers who helped to make this day special. The students at Swansboro Elementary are also benefiting from the mentors from Reveille. We would like to recognize Elizabeth Evans, Ainsley Higginbotham, Joe Ramage, Mary Ann Ramage, Laura Holdych, Blake MacIver and Linda Adams who do a wonderful job as mentors at Swansboro. The students also enjoy the Lunch Buddy program. If you are interested in becoming a mentor or coming in to have lunch with a student once or twice a month, contact Sheelagh Davis at sheelagh.d@verizon.net.
The Fourth and Fifth grade girls are participating in a Girl Power group during the month of February sponsored by Reveille. If you are interested in learning more about this program, contact Kathy Rainey at csrainey1@verizon.net .

Where Do We Go From Here? Follow-up Meeting Planned
Last year's "When Helping Hurts" poverty study was an inspirational time with our partner churches, Love Center of Unity Church and Koinonia Christian Church. An important follow-up meeting is planned for Thursday, February 19th at 7:00 pm at Love Center of Unity. LCU is located at 30 East Broad Rock Road in Richmond. Please come and be a part of this discussion as we plan events for 2015. We will be discussing how Reveille, LCU and Koinonia can continue to grow in our ministerial partnership as we reach out to those in the Swansboro community. We look forward to seeing you at Love Center of Unity on February 19th. Let's continue the excitement started last year with our partner churches and see where God will lead us.
