Words of Wisdom
You will not be punished for your anger; you will be punished by your anger.
~ Buddha
With something to think about . . .Anger serves as a signal that something is off. We may be upset that a boundary was crossed or a wrong committed. Maybe there is pain underneath the anger. With maturity, anger can serve as an outlet to articulate a resolution without being aggressive. When we're angered, we articulate, resolve, and let go. It's the resolve and letting go part that can be difficult, particularly for young ones still learning to process anger. We can teach them — while reminding ourselves — that anger can be used to assert our feelings without becoming aggressive and creating punishing consequences for ourselves and others.
Remember to take care of yourself.
Something bothering you? Get to the root of what needs resolution and make sure you aren't taking it out on yourself or others.
Happy Birthday!
