ELM MIDDLE SCHOOL’S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
February 3, 2023
Principal's Message
Greetings Elm Families,
We hope everyone had a wonderful week. Students in Senorita Rocha's class spent time unpacking language in a text they were reading while drawing inferences, and questioning each other in deep conversation solomente en espanol! It was amazing to see our students speaking so fluently. Great job, everyone!
Take a few minutes and complete the 5Essentials Survey for Elm Middle School. We greatly value all of your feedback. Also, if you'd like to order Spirit Wear click here!
Elm Middle School Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for February 15th and 16th, appointments are open. Please click the link for instructions on how to sign up for conferences! Scheduling will close at noon on February 14th.
Please take a few minutes to read through this week’s Cougar Courier. As always, should you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly. Have a nice weekend. #TeamElmStrong
Most Sincerely,
Ms. Ashley Groeneveld
Assistant Principal's Corner - Individual Parent/Guardian Meetings 8th Grade
As we head into the second half of the year, we, as an administration and staff, continue to reinforce to our students the importance of being consistent in their course work. Please note that Monday 2/6/23 is Cougar Connections. If your students received an invite, it is mandatory that they stay to receive supports for their failing grades.
8th grade parents, we will be reaching out to you if your student failed first trimester and is in danger of failing the second trimester which ends March 9th. We would like to collaborate with you to set up a clear action plan. Students who fail multiple trimesters cannot participate in end of the year functions (8th grade dance, 8th Grade Breakfast, Graduation Ceremony). Please reach out to me with any questions. Further, please reiterate to your students that they can make up work, retake exams, and it is never too late to improve their performance.
Thank you for your help; we look forward to a great remainder of the year.
