Description:
NaF, or sodium fluoride, is a common ingredient that you use bright and early every day(hopefully). It is the main ingredient in toothpaste and helps to keep your teeth clean and healthy.
Interesting Story:
In 2013 the UK made 12 billion pounds from selling chemicals to 27 countries that are on the FCO's(Foreign Office) list of human rights concern, such as Syria. It was later discovered that the primary chemical was sodium fluoride, which would have been inconsequential, but given the concerns over human rights violation and the ability to produce nerve gas from the fumes of the compound many were left questioning the ethics of the contractors.
