Cell structure and function
By: Celeste Grantham
Cell membrane, Cell wall, and Cytoplasm
Cell membrane
Keeps everything inside.
Cell wall
Provides a protected framework for a cell to survive.
Cytoplasm
The fluid that fills a cell.
Nucleus, Nuclear membrane, and Nucleolus
Nucleus
Like the brain of the cell.
Nuclear membrane
Nucleolus
Produces ribosomes which are critical to protein synthesis.
Centrioles, Chromatin, and Ribosomes
Centrioles
Helps the cell when it divides.
Chromatin
Mass of genetic material.
Ribosomes
The protein builders of the cell.
Golgi apparatus, and Endoplasmic recticulum.
Golgi apparatus
Important in packaging macromolecules for transportation.
Endoplasmic recticulum
Functions as a manufacturing and packing system.
Mitochondria, Chloroplast, and Lysosomes
Mitchondria
Takes nutrients, breaks them down and creates energy molecules.
Chloroplast
Food producers of the cell.
Lysosomes
Holds enzymes ( to digest ).
Peroxisomes, Vacuole, Cytoskeleton
Peroxisomes
Holds enzymes that require oxygen.
Vacuole
Storage bubbles in cells.
Cytoskeleton
Network of fibers contained of proteins.
