What's Happening!!
The week started with hot temperatures and Open House. Thank you to all that attended this week's Open House and Senior Information Night. The THS news aired its first episode of the year utilizing the new TV studio equipment. We are excited to see the new features and episodes that will be coming this year. Homecoming planning is in full swing as class officers have designed and ordered class t-shirts. They will be meeting at the start of next week to finalize themes and receive details for class videos. The THS Theater program has been busy rehearsing for this year's Musical Revue, more information on this event can be found below. Students and staff took part in an ALICE training drill. We are happy with the response from both as we look to continually improve during safety drills.
As a reminder all students must have information updated through Powerschool. This includes phone numbers, email addresses, emergency contacts, and medical information. This process replaces the paper forms that are typically sent home at the beginning of the year. If you have not updated this information, please do so as soon as possible. If this form is not completed, your child will not be able to take over the counter medications from the nurse as well as not be able to attend any upcoming field trips. We hope this is not the case. Thank you to those who have already completed this process.
Have a great weekend!

College Financing Seminar: Parents and students are invited to attend a free seminar on paying for college. The seminar will be held on Thursday, October 5th at 6:30 in the THS auditorium. The seminar is offered through MEFA, the Commonwealth's resource on planning, saving and paying for college. An experienced MEFA representative will provide an overview of the college financing process, including types of financial aid, how to apply, and financing options for your family. Families are encouraged to visit MEFA's website, mefa.org, for tools and resources to assist in this process. MEFA is requesting that you register in advance for the College Financing Seminar. By registering early, families will begin to receive MEFA’s college planning emails, with key information, updates, and resources. To register please go to mefa.org/rsvp/ for the online seminar registration form. If you are unsure that they will attend the seminar you can still register, as you will still benefit from the college planning email curriculum. While seminar registration is encouraged, you may still attend the seminar even if they don't register!
The school counseling department will be hosting College Question and Answer meetings for senior parents/guardians on October 12th, November 9th, and December 7th at 8:00 a.m. This is a great time to learn about the college application process.
