Week of Monday, November 11th

This Week in Room 508:

Reader's Workshop: Readers identify characters in the stories. Students will identify characters and character traits in read aloud stories.

Writer's Workshop: We will continue to focus on "small moment" stories. Students will continue writing about what they know, and adding detail that is important to their story.

Math: This week is the beginning of the 3rd six weeks, listed below are the 3rd six weeks math objectives:
-Read a calendar using days, weeks, and months.

-Orally count by ones to 40
-Name and identify ordinal numbers (1st-5th)

-Number Sequence
-Creating and answering questions about graphs
-Read, say, and write numbers to 10

-Compare objects according to their temperature (hotter/colder than)
-Describe, identify, and compare 2-D shapes

Veterans Day

Students may wear red, white, or blue on Monday. The students will sing a few songs in morning assembly if you have someone in your family who is currently serving in the armed forces or is a veteran we invite them to come to morning assembly and be recognized.

Enrichment Day: Castles

Monday, November 25th is one of the two enrichment days at Pebble Creek. The theme for this enrichment day is Castles! We are looking for parent volunteers to help us with this important day. We need a few parents who are willing to help decorate the hallway, we also need a few parents who are willing to help us with our Castle Craft during the school day. If you are interested in helping out please email me as soon as possible and we will put you to work! :) Thank you for helping us make these days so successful for our kids!!

Early Release Day

This Wednesday, November 13th is an early release day. We will have CAMP from 10:30-11:10. We will have lunch from 11:51-12:21. Students will be dismissed at 12:45.
