Eastlake High School 10.6.19
Greetings from Eastlake High School
I hope you had a great break and made some great memories with your student. I know many of you stayed behind to help and support our sports programs. We appreciate your dedication. We will get right back into the groove of academics, arts and athletics. There is always a lot going on. Please make sure you preview the WAAG (Week at a Glance) below. We will also have our Homecoming events happening in and around school. You can find more information about Homecoming on our website. We hope to see you at the Homecoming game. On another note, the drop-off zone project has been delayed. I will have more information for you as I learn about the updates. We will start off with an A Block Day on October 8th. Here are some big picture items for your consideration:
A. Coffee with the Principal. The next Coffee with the Principal has been moved to October 23rd due to PSAT practice. We are still hoping to have a guest speaker from the American Run Association to discuss the dangers of vaping.
B. Community and Parent Leadership. We need you to be a part of the WASC accreditation process. We will be reaching our shortly with tremendous opportunities for our community to express their suggestions and concerns to our school leadership team.
C. Parent Series. Our school leadership team is organizing important information for our parents to engage in their own professional development as parents and partners. We will have a section on our website dedicated to the Parent Series. We shortly have our Mental Health video up from our guest speaker who spoke on this topic. Additionally, we are planning a Vaping presentation in October which will also be taped. You will find a QR code below to our A-G College Requirement video. I suggest you review this awesome video and start conversations with your students.
D. Cycle and 5K Eastlake. We need community partners in this process. The Eastlake Education Foundation are generous supporters of our school's mission and provide us with many different resources including a check for $20,000! Please see the flyer below and let's have you and your family and friends join us! We need 70 families (staff and community) to represent our awesome high school. I am being challenged by Eastlake Middle. Let's go team! Here is our direct LINK. PLEASE SHARE!! Hope to see you there. We need 70 families!
E. Marine Band Performance. See the flyer below about this awesome performance coming to EHS on October 26th. I hope you will consider watching this amazing event.
