Bobcat Families,
Another successful year is coming to an end. We can't thank you enough for your continued support. You are raising some amazing children and we are grateful that you entrust them to us.
Teacher Appreciation Week just concluded. Your generosity and thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated. The children were very happy to bring in the gifts you provided and the smiles they presented everyone was a great treat to see.
Please take a moment and look through the pieces below. We hope to see students here during our summer book checkout hours. Perhaps you'll find a book that you can read alongside your children.
Have a safe and relaxing summer!

East Lake Rotary Club's Student of the Month
Hands down, Tate Barnes is so deserving of this May Student of the Month recognition! This incredible young man is a leader, self-starter, and possess a huge caring heart! At school, Tate has shined as Captain of the Safety Patrol, a responsibility that he takes very seriously day in and day out. He has established a tight relationship with his assigned PreK class and loves connecting with the students. In the afternoon, his patrol duties find him assisting in car line. Tate also exhibits leadership qualities in his role as the Treasurer of the National Honor Society. He shared with us how honored he was when his peers chose him for this office out of approximately seven other candidates. Being a “self-starter” is another characteristic that is commendable of Tate. He enters the room daily ready to work, helps others, and daily manages the computer cart (which really isn’t a small feat). Tate likes to be involved and currently is a member of chorus and guitar club. Teachers and students all love being in Tate’s company as he possesses an outgoing personality and couples it with his genuine spirit for helping others. Outside of school, Tate cherishes being outdoors, climbing trees, and helping others doing yardwork. Tate loves all animals, especially his dog Donut. In addition, Tate plays on a soccer team and enjoys being an altar server at his church. We just love this wonderful Tate Barnes and congratulate him for being named East Lake Sunrise Rotary Club May Student of the Month! Submitted by Ms. Smith and Mrs. Hickman

Hey Bobcats!
We can't believe the school year is almost over! It was great having things back to "normal" this year. We hope the students not only had fun in PE but learned a few things as well. For all those 5th graders, we will miss you and wish you the very best in Middle School. For all returning students, we will see you in a couple of months. We hope you have a great Summer and remain active. Remember, it's especially important to stay hydrated during these hot months. A big thank you to all parents, students, and community members that continue to support our PE program! See you in August!
Clinic News
End of the year Medication pickup
As the end of the school year quickly approaches, I wanted to remind all parents with students that have medication in the clinic, that they need to pick up the medication by the end of the school year. The last day of school this year is May 26, 2022 and dismissal time is 12:55. All medication in the clinic needs to be picked up by 3:00 pm on May 26, 2022. Any medication that has not been picked up by that time WILL be disposed of or destroyed. I know that days get hectic and people forget, so I will be sending home another reminder letter closer to the last day for you all to mark your calendars for this pickup date and time. This medication can be extremely expensive, and I would hate to have to destroy it.
Pinellas County Schools have strict polices that do not allow students to carry medications on their person. Therefore, we are not able to give the medication to students to bring home. A parent must come to the school and sign out the medication.
If your student is enrolled in summer bridge, unfortunately you will still need to pick up the medication from school and bring it back to school on the start date for summer bridge. I understand that this is an inconvenience, but as there are days off in between school being dismissed and summer bridge starting, the school cannot store the medication. Summer bridge this year is at Cypress Woods Elementary School.
If you are unable to pick up the medication on this date, please pick up medication prior to school being dismissed for the summer. I will be more than happy to assist you with this prior to the school year ending.
I will also be sending home a health history form for next year. If you plan to come back to Brooker Creek Elementary, could you please send back the form before this school year ends. This gives me a head start to next year and it is less paperwork for you all to fill out at the start of the school year.
Thank you all for your support throughout the school year. Have a safe, healthy and relaxing summer. I look forward to next year.
