Stem Cells

What are Stem Cells?

Stem cells have the remarkable potential to develop into many different cell types in the body during early life and growth. In addition, in many tissues they serve as a sort of internal repair system, dividing essentially without limit to replenish other cells as long as the person or animal is still alive.

Why are Stem Cells so Important?

Well for me, stem cell research is very important in my life. My father, Joel has been paralyzed since he was 14 years old so I think it is important for this research so someday someone will find a cure. Stem cells in my opinion are the future of science and solving medical problems. The possibilities are endless when you have a cell that can basically turn into any cell you want. Scientist are working with stem cells to: repair tissue, cure paralysis, diabetes, organ failure and many, many more.
