What is Plutonium

Plutonium is a metal normally put into the group of anticides (elements with numbers from 90 to 103) and is used mainly in weapons and in nuclear power plants. It is a dangerous but useful substance to humans as it provides power and gives energy to many houses and homes

What Are the Dangers

Unfortunately Plutonium is not safe to stand near and can cause serious radiation if not used properly. It has a high radiation rate and at room temperature will explode. Plutonium also is used in some medical research and 1 pound of the stuff will kill you!

How Does it Form

Plutonium forms when uranium decays to neptunium and neptunium decays to plutonium. This forms plutonium 239
