Curriculum Night—Thank You
I want to thank all our parents for the amazing turn-out for our Curriculum Night events this week. The sheer number of parents in attendance shows the level of support our students and teachers have. Parent involvement is instrumental when it comes to building a strong school community. My hope is that all attendees left the event feeling proud that their child is a student at Munhall Elementary. I hope you heard from enthusiastic teachers and staff members, who built your confidence in what your child is experiencing each day here at school.
The Mustang Way
At Curriculum Night I spoke to parents about our core values as a school, specifically the three behaviors that we want to model as adults, and explicitly teach our students: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be a Problem-Solver. Last week in the Munhall Bulletin, I shared a variety of questions parents can use to engage their child about their school day. I might suggest adding a few more questions to the repertoire. By explicitly asking students how they were respectful, responsible, and a problem-solver during the school day, it will reinforce idea of behaving themselves “The Mustang Way”.
Safety Drills
At Curriculum Night, I shared information about our safety drills and protocols here at Munhall. Next Wednesday, September 4th we will practice all three safety drills: Evacuation (fire) drill, Lockdown drill, and Severe Weather drill. Feel free to ask your child about what they did during these drills and what their class
Have a great Labor Day weekend!

Change of Clothes:
Please send your child to school with a change of clothes. Accidents happen, and even the older students can spill water on themselves. Extra clothes should be kept in their cubby or backpack.
Fifth Grade Choir
Does your child like to sing? Mrs. Hammons will again be directing a 5th grade choir this year and now is the time to register your child. It will be held on Monday mornings, beginning at 7:20 am, at Anderson Elementary School. The first rehearsal will be on Monday, September 16. All 5th grade students may join! There are no auditions and the only cost is for a t-shirt, as well as pizza dinner at the choir festival in the spring. Please use this link to register your child:
