STATE FAIR INFORMATION

State Fair Static Projects Drop Off Deadline at County Offices

If you are planning on exhibiting at the State Fair, each piece of your exhibit should be carefully labeled with your name and county. It’s your responsibility to have all State Fair required information (i.e. information sheets, special labels, explanations) securely attached to your exhibit. We will have your entry tags ready for you in advance.


A copy of the State Fair Book will be available at the County Fair, Extension Office or online at: https://4h.unl.edu/fairbook for you to consult.


Exhibits that you want us to take for you to the State Fair must be brought to your local Extension Office by 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24th.


You can pick them up on Thursday, September 9th from 12:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. from your local extension office.


Due to limited transportation space, larger items may need to be delivered to Grand Island by the exhibitor. If you have a large item such as furniture, please contact the Extension Office to make arrangements for delivery options.


State and County offices are not responsible for lost or broken items.

State Fair exhibitors and families please find below information regarding tickets and entry deadlines/limits!


Note – All livestock exhibitors and in-person event exhibitors (contests, fashion show, presentations) will still be able to order discounted tickets when they enter in ShoWorks for State Fair. This process has not changed for those exhibitors coming to the fair.

At this time the 2021 Nebraska State Fair 4-H and FFA Livestock entry site is open and accepting entries. Below you will find some information regarding the deadline, entry site, schedule, entry limits, entry prices, optional purchase items and tips for how to submit entries. Please feel free to share this email with your livestock and small animal families in your county. An email will be sent to the families who submitted nominations in Show Stock Manager but our poultry/rabbit/dog families will not receive this message since they are not required to complete a June 15 nomination.

Deadline to complete entries: Tuesday, August 10 at 8 PM CST*

*No option for late entries - Thayer Co. exhibitors, even though our fair won't be over, you MUST enter State Fair by August 10!!

Entry Limits

  • 4-H and FFA each have different entry limits for each species:

  • 4-H & FFA State Fair Exhibitors,

    The Nebraska State Fair is just around the corner! As a reminder, there are entry limits for each organization and each of the individual species. Exhibitors cannot bring more than the limits stated below.

    4-H Number of Entries:

    Beef - A 4-H member is limited to exhibiting up to five beef animals. A 4-H'er can exhibit up to two market beef, three breeding heifers and two feeder calves as long as the total number of entries does not exceed five beef animals. The following are examples of the combination of beef exhibits that are acceptable:

    1. One breeding heifer, two market beef and two feeder calves.

    2. Two breeding heifers and two market beef (market beef may be two market steers or two market heifers or one steer and one heifer) and a feeder calf.

    3. Two breeding heifers, one market beef and two feeder calves.

    4. Three breeding heifers, one market beef and one feeder calf.

    5. Three breeding heifers and two market beef.

    6. Three breeding heifers and two feeder calves.

    Dairy – refer to the Nebraska State Fair Youth Regional Dairy Show Entry Book

    Meat Goat – 5 goats maximum, if at least two are breeding does. In no case will a 4-H member exhibit more than three market goats

    Poultry – A 4-H member is limited to exhibiting 5 live bird entries (egg production trios are considered one entry). Egg entries are not considered in the 5 bird limit. Egg entries are limited to one dozen per exhibitor.

    Rabbit – A member is limited to housing for 5 rabbits. If the exhibitor would like to use a rabbit specifically for showmanship, the rabbit must be housed elsewhere until the day of the show

    Sheep – 5 sheep maximum, if at least two are breeding ewes. In no case will a 4-H member exhibit more than three market lambs

    Swine –3 market hogs, 2 breeding gilts

    FFA Number of Entries:

    Each eligible FFA exhibitor will be permitted to show a maximum of:

    Beef - 6 animals total but no more than 3 market animals, 4 breeding animals and 4 feeder calves

    Dairy – refer to the Nebraska State Fair Youth Regional Dairy Show Entry Book

    Market Swine – 4, Breeding Gilts - 2

    Market Lambs – 4, Breeding Sheep - 4

    Market Goats – 4, Breeding Goats - 4

  • It is recommended to download the step by step instructions prior to signing in to the entry site. Note: Even if the youth exhibited at the 2020 State Fair, please click “I am a new exhibitor or have yet to register this year”
  • Browser: It is recommended to use Chrome as the web browser.

Our 4-H static exhibitor families will be able to order discount passes directly from the Nebraska State Fair! Orders can be placed using the following link and password. Please remember the opportunity to order these discounted tickets is for static exhibitors and their families only. The misuse of this resource may eliminate this opportunity in the future, so please encourage your families not to share this link. Note – We can track who ordered tickets and match it with their 4-H participation. There is a limit of 10 tickets per exhibitor. Nuckolls Co. Office Manager Jean Stichka has been selected to be the Grand Marshal of the Nebraska State Fair parade on Mon. August 30. Times and more details TBA, but if you're in Grand Island, come out and wave at Jean as she drives by!
