Securing Your Zoom Meetings
How to Securely Set up Zoom Meetings for POUSD

Getting Ready and Setting Up Zoom:
- Be sure your students have signed the Media Release Form sent at the beginning of the year (contact your principal if you do not know which students haven't signed it).
- Download Zoom onto your computer to use. https://zoom.us/
- Review the pre-meeting settings for conducting a Zoom Meeting.
*Don’t use a personal meeting Id for class meeting.
*Use a password for all meetings
*Only allow registered or domain verified users.
4. Practice conducting a Zoom meeting before you do it with your students.
5. Send your students the Virtual Meeting Protocols before your meeting. (You can also post these protocols during your meeting!)
*Be on Time
*Respect: Be respectful when listening, speaking, and writing in the chat box.
*Keep your sound on mute until you are asked to speak.
*Turn your video off if you need to do something that you don’t want everyone to see (like going to the bathroom)!
*Stay in one place.
*Do not take pictures or video of the meeting.
6. Follow the secure zoom meeting steps for your meeting (see steps below).

Require a Password to Join
Only Allow Registered or Domain Verified Users
In Meeting Setting and Steps:
Master the security menu. (Lock the meeting, enable waiting room, manage participants)
Control screen sharing.
Disable private chat.
Turn off annotation.
Mute participants.
Make someone a co-host.
Remove participants.
